Title: Garden Wars MSea v Zak
Post by: MSea on March 31, 2022, 12:54:57 PM
As some of you know Zak and I have differing ideas about what should be grown in a garden. Zak ONLY grows things that can be eaten, while I grow NOTHING that can be eaten.
Saw this advert by Dragon Head Models in the Fantasy Figures International magazine and decided that this would be the first  model to make in my new room, it just amused me.  It has just arrived and when my room is back in working order will make a start. I don't even have a paint brush or paint at the moment.

Is that a parsnip or a carrot or something else?

Which one will I be?

Could this be Martin raiding my allotment - no the parsnip is too small!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Decisions decisions decisions, both models will be mounted on one block of wood, now should they be separate like the first photo or should I join them and add more soil/land and have a fence between the 2 plots. Think at the moment will add a fence to keep that Zak out of my land - hohohoho

Together, but two plots with a First World War type barbed wire fence between them, duck board and lots of tools, wheelbarrows and maybe a shed as a backdrop.

Two section marked out and now a central section to be cut out and fastened between the 2 parts.
When it is cut all 3 will be on a wood block and some surface detail added to the center section as well as a fence - the fence is needed to keep that Zak out of my area - hohoho

Use some of those gears for a post apocalyptic rotavator!

Center section made, next job cut some holes for the fence post - now all I have to do is find the box of balsa - its a pain sorting out and having your room done, you can't find anything.

Looking forward to that Zak.
Holes made for the fence posts and the balsa then worn and damaged to make them fit into an old allotment garden area.

No barbed wire at the moment - just a base coat of brown on the fence and some texture on the base.

Trial run with the 3 bits on a wood base and the 2 figures added, the space at the front of the models will have the title "Garden Wars" fitted into this space.

The 3 section added to the new base and filler added to round off the edges and give it a more natural look - well I think so ????

Sign painted - think the orange against the brown does not show up enough so will overpaint with light green.
Other photo is some shading on the soil and rocks

They are MSea type, so you are lucky they are some form of green - they could be blue or pink or any other strange colour that comes out of my head.
