Another 3D printed model from Wayne - started at playday 5 and spent a lot of time smoothing some of the panels, the building has a coat of filler/glue and has been marked out as medieval stone walls, next job is to remove some between the stone blocks and then add colour. Then its back to do some more on the Russian cruiser Varyag, honest Haddock !!!!
-
Filler between the stones now removed and a coat of black painted in.
-
Basic block colour added to the flagstones

No Kevin remember in the bad old days ( that's 2011 to you) I made a scratch built model of the same genre - not as good as the 3D pronted one from Wayne but I was happy at the time
-
Yeah and the new one has a menacing shadow!
-
well spotted Chris thought somebody would like the photo
-
Coat of hull red on the machine so it can be covered in a different colour and then chipped and some removed. At the moment not sure what colour will be used on the main panels.
-
Looking good Martin. I'm sure whatever colours you choose it'll be good.
-
Thanks Chris - base coat of pale grey on the stones, when dry will start to add shading and other colours to the base coat
-
After a coat of Pledge have started to put dots of colour on the stones and washed them in with a wet brush.
When they are all done and I am happy with them it will be a coat of base colour over the top to blend them together
-
Back to it with a vengeance.
-
All stones in the walls and the flagstones now coloured, when dry and solid, another coat of pledge and then a wash of smoke to blend all colours together.
-
Avery nice build.

-
Looks good.
-
Coming along nicely.
-
Some colour added to the machine and when dry 80% will be removed and some rust added
-
A coat of smoke on the walls and some Flory wash on the flagstones
-
Looking more weathered and dirty.
-
Me or the stones ;D ;D ;D

I could not possible comment!
Did not know you worked as a politician in the "The House of Cards" TV show - hohohho
Also some work done on one of the legs - now which one did I do ::) ::) ::) ::)
-
More colour removed from the machine and a trial run with it in place.

Impossible to tell.
-
The model is looking great Martin. Ready for the January meetin?
-
Think so Chris - may still be a WIP
-
Two sections of plaster of paris rocks hollowed out and fastened together with a bit of fishing lead shot in the middle.
-
Is there a good reason for this?
Haddock.

It's Martin, so why should there be?
-
Its for "low tech v high tech" all will become clear soon, well to me at least
-
We wait with bated breath Martin.
-
Well this is the rock that will hang from the beam and try to knock over the fighting machine. Decided that it was not big enough so have glued a couple of other sections of rock to it and added some filler to cover the joins.
-
Amazing!
-
Looking good Martin.
-
Thanks all for the comments.
Rock now painted and hanging rope fastened to it, the thin red rope will be the one to be cut and release the rock to swing down and knock over the fighting machine.
-
Trial run with machine and rock in place.
-
So, is the robot stupid enough to have a rock dropped on its head?
-
Will this be a working model complete with sound effects or will we have to use our imagintion?
Haddock.
-
Imagination only - sorry
-
Looks good - even in my imagination.
-
No movement Chris but at least some more rust
-
Are you calling it 'Rusty the Robot'?
-
Perhaps you should call it 'Sickly'
It's suffering badly from 'Rustitus'.

The figure to cut the rope is a conversion of one of the figures from the Zulu War model. He has had his rifle removed and some wine bottle top metal cut and fastened to form a hooded coat. When dry will add some filler to fill the gaps and then pockets and belt to the coat.
-
Great imagination Martin.
-
Figure now added to the model
-
A novel idea. Great!
