Title: Airfix B25
Post by: councilman on February 19, 2021, 02:30:21 PM
I started this model while I was on holiday about 2 years ago, its going to be 'straight out of the box'.
No wiring in this one.

That should be easier without the wiring.

Which version is it Andy?

Hi Chris,
I think this is a C/D version looking at the fuselage set up.
The 'J' had the turret mounted forward behind the cockpit.
Cheers,
Kevin

Sorry for leaving you in the dark Chaps,
This is the more resent Airfix offering.
I believe Meremodeller has built a few of these.
Cheers.

A bit more progress.  ;D
The seat harnesses where made from strips of sticky foil tape, which conforms well to the seats.

The good weather will soon put the breaks on my modeling.  I intend to revamp the workshop as well.

Coming on!  That's a big hole it has in the Port side, just aft of the wing?
Is there any information about it in the destructions?

The holes in the side are for clear plastic inserts to cover the different types of aircraft. In this case, the RAF version has small round windows instead of waist guns.

Thanks Andy. So it's a "model" thing, not the real aircraft.

Hello all, back from the dead....
Got the workshop finished, finally. I'm itching to get on with the Lancaster but I thought I would blow the cobwebs off by finishing the B25.
Well its in colour.
Yes its a tail sitter...
Good to be back,
Andy.

If it's tailsitting Andy can you get weight in the engine nacelle and front wheelbay?

Hi Andy,
Looking good mate.
Have you considered some magnets in the nosewheel, to help balance the model?
Put one in the nosewheel, and another in the base position.
It looks like it works on the tinternet'
Cheers,
Bigkev

I have my eye on this kit Andy - once I can sneak off to the Hardware Shop without DCOS in tow!  For some reason I never had a Mitchell in my collection and I've always been fascinated by ventral turrets.  Pay day soon!!!

Thanks Andy you did a grand job as always.  I'll take that recommendation as the green light to get this kit then.  And you'll visit me in hospital after DCOS finds out?
