Title: Cromwell ARV
Post by: Bob C on February 16, 2021, 02:48:08 PM
Started this Cromwell Armoured Recovery Vehicle a couple of days ago. 1/35 Tamiya Cromwell as the donor kit with Accurate Armour conversion kit. the inside is scratch built after finding a couple of this on the internet.
I've got a few other Cromwell ideas so might end up with a squadron of Cromwell's.

Or a whole regiment?

I think a lot more than a regiment - now how many tanks has the British army got at the moment and how many has Bob got ????????

Looking forward to seeing it finished.

done a bit more, calling the inside finished, and cut and cleaned most of the large parts. Today I've put the upper and lower hull together.
I think I need the recover myself just can't get going.

I’ll see what I can do, the opening on the hull top is not that large.

Some more work done this morning, mainly resin and brass. The drivers hatch and main compartment opening is masked ready for spraying. Andy I used Resicast no.19 radio.

I'm calling it finished, it's nice to have a Cromwell without a turret.
The figures are Tamiya and Gecko.

That is a fantastic model Bob. The tracks are especially good and you will be thoroughly interrogated about your technique at the next club meeting.

An excellent model Bob. I presume that is just paint on the parts that look like wooden slabs?

You know you've got it right when you have to look twice to realize
you're looking at a model and not the real thing.
