Title: Foreign vehicles in German service
Post by: zak on November 02, 2020, 05:44:15 PM
The Germans made much use of captured vehicles and captured countries vehicles.
What can this be.
Clue, another Marder?
It must be an older kit, lots of ejector pin holes to fill.

Italian M13/40?

No, its French.
It is built on a Hotchkiss chassis.
It must be an older Hobbyboss kit, a bit of flash and pin marks requiring cleaning up.
A strange looking beast.
Still in two parts to aid painting detail.

Are you slowly working your way through the Chamberlain and Doyle Encyclopedia? You're gonna need a bigger garage!!!

Obviously both, but what would I know.

While the paint cures/dries, I started another one based on a Renault R35 tank chassis.
This is another HobbyBoss kit with excellent internal details, pity really as it will all be hidden once the top goes on.
So do I install it or not? At present it is not glued in place, as I will need to paint the interior.
The photos show the detail and what can be seen with the top on.
There will also be additional superstructure on top on this.
The eagled eyed might also spot some brass in there!

My comment is "if you can't see it" don't put it in -- you will then have some engine bits etc to put into a workshop diorama.

Good thinking Zombie man.
Look at how many bits make up one wheel.
Even brass to bend and fold. Eat your heart out Haddock.
4 to construct - off for a lie down.

Bet you're glad this is 1/35 and not 1/72!!! I've got a 1/76 scale resin one but thankfully the running gear is all one piece.

Here is the Befehlsfahrzeug auf Fgst Pzkpfe 35R 731(f) built from the box with a couple of old Tamiya figures.
I may replace the aerial at some stage, it looks very thick.

I know it is not - but the top section looks out of scale to the bottom section.

It does even in actuality, not just photos of the model.

I reckon Zak has merged a 1/48th with a 1/35th without telling us.

Only joking Zak.

Hmmm.... this might just inspire me to build this in 1/72 using the resin kit I have.

Is that a turret or just an armored box?
Looks great.

Careful now, the chassis was probably not up to much.
