Just to keep Tony up to date. Here is one I started a couple of weeks ago.
Internals done and some subassemblies built. 1/72nd scale.
Colour scheme will be for Vietnam 1963.

Hi Chris,
Nice looking model, at least Msea will be happy.
Modelling a 'Fruit Basket' will mean he is in appropriate company.
Cheers,
Bigkev

It's coming along nicely Chris.
-
Fuselage halves glued together now. The mouldings are really good and go together very well.
Included in the kit is a small sheet of plastic grill/netting for the air intakes -a nice touch.
-
Shouldn't the banana be yellow - hohoho
-
Only in the fruit bowl.

An interesting subject, I’ll keep an eye on this.

It will keep him out of mischief hopefully.

This is a strange looking helicopter.
Great stuff.
Andy.

Yes I think the masking is going to take awhile. Must have more Weetabix.
-
First of the three colours on - tan (mr hobby paints) - green and olive drab to go.
-
Are you going 'freehand' or masking?
-
Masking.

Enjoy taking the masking off..
Andy.

Andy.
Is it ever enjoyable?
Not for me I am sorry to say.
-
It does seem to be a pain most of the time with having to touch up afterwards.
-
Camouflage finished. Just some touching-up to do and the decals.
-
Nice, what did you use for masking?
Haddock.
-
Looking great Chris

Nice, what did you use for masking?
Haddock.
A thing called silly putty.
-
I've read a build by an Americans who used that for masking. Where did you get it from? It looks to give a better effect than tape of Maskol etc.
-
There's a product available in this country called M.R.P. Mr Hyde masking putty, Bill used it so I thought I'd give it a try. You can get it from "Premium Hobbies". It looks expensive but you can use it over and over again. M.I.G Ammo do something that's probably the same stuff but more expensive, maybe there's more in the tin. it goes a long way.
Haddock.

Thanks MSea. Re-reading my post there's a few errors in there, my meds must be wearing off!!!
-
I searched for 'silly putty' on ebay after reading that someone had used it. It's a kids toy. I bought two several years ago at about £4.50 each (I think). You can use it over and over again. Not had much luck with maskol.
-
Apologies Haddock I as having one of those days where my brain and fingers aren't co-operating!!! Thanks Chris I'll be checking things out.
-
At last completed. It's come out reasonably well. The mouldings in the kit were very good quality - any errors are all mine.
-
Looks OK to me.
Haddock.
-
Can't see any errors...
Great job,
Andy.

Thanks chaps.
