Title: 1/35 MiniArt European Tramcar with passengers and crew.
Post by: zak on August 04, 2020, 03:52:03 PM
I thought that I might be able to Anglicise this, time will tell.
Here is a picture of the box artwork and the contents of the box.
Lots of sprues and bits and pieces.

Is this going to become a furnicular ( no idea how to spell it) railway up and down the cliffs?

Oooh!!
Now you've done it.
Planted another seed in ZaK's mind.
Now for the 'Up's' and Down's' of modelling.

Many thanks Tony (aka Haddock), the large aluminium plate was useful for keeping everything level.
One of your blocks on top as well.
See, you do come in useful.

I like miniart kits maybe over engineered but nice, this one looks to have a really nice base.

Yes, nice kits, but as you say perhaps a bit of over engineering.
Here is the motor bogie and it test fitted to the chassis.

Painting and masking as I build.
I am leaving things in sections and will see how the assembly goes, everything can be removed.
The seats, the chassis and the bogies are not glued together yet.

Lifeguards fitted under the tram, these were to stop any unfortunate who went under the tram ending up under the wheels.
On one video build of the tram, someone referred to them as cow catchers.

Some passengers. They may have a long wait for the tram.

"Foible Alert"

Tram diver and clippie as well.

There are plenty of figures in this kit.
10 altogether, lots of stuff in the kit as well as the tram.
The cobbles have been painted and grouted with a Flory Wash.
On to painting and adding the street furniture.
I have added a drain and am wondering about a manhole cover (is this sexist? Should it be person hole cover?)
The tram doors and roof have been painted and are drying.

Thanks Tony, they were individually painted with 7 different colours, starting with a base colour and gradually adding other colours to slightly change the shade.

No Hammer, but a fillet of plastic applied to fill that annoying gap between the roof and the body.
Driver, conductor and two passengers added to the interior.

I have replaced all the plastic grab handles with home made brass ones, cleaning up the plastic ones was a nightmare. I have included a picture of them on the sprue - parts 14/15.
It doesn't look right or square on the picture - will have to alter that before it is added to the tram roof.

Bow collector added, most British trams used trolley poles but some had bow collectors, so decided to live with it.
Trolley wire also on position.
I am starting to think about the background.

Don't spike his fruit and fibre - just make him eat 7 bowls full in the morning, that will slow him down and he will then spend a lot of time in a very small room and a penny as well.

The tram is now complete, with anglicised adverts, only German ones are supplied in the kit.
Still a bit more to do on the backscene.
Th pub needs a name, it will be the Tramcar, the building next door will be the Tram Company Main Office.
Capping stones to paint and other bits still to do.
