Just back from a few days in Riga Latvia. She who must be obeyed sorted out a cheap trip from Doncaster with Wizz Air.
The museum is just 3 mins walk from the front of the Main Riga Airport exit, you ring the bell and wait and wait but its worth it in the long run.
more photos -- I did not know how BIG the helicopter was until now

Its now time for you to put photos of SHIPS on line for me --hohoho
You could have at least worn that SHIRT!!!
Thanks for the photos msea, very enlightening as to what happens to obsolete aircraft. Shame about their appearance and upkeep.

Very interesting. Apart from the museum, was Riga worth visiting?
Hi Msea,
Welcome back.
Do they know you were really '008' in disguise and on a secret mission?
Anyway, some very nice pictures of several interesting aircraft in various states of disrepair/preservation.
Think we might make an aircraft modeller of you yet............................
Cheers,
Bigkev
Well, well a closet aircraft enthusiast.
Thank you for your comments -- shirt/008/closet/aircraft modeller -- and yes Roger Riga is wonderful especially the buildings and the people.
Some people say the museum is only a junk yard, but its my kind of museum, lots and lots of RUST and bits and bobs all over the place.
No Kev I will not become an "aircraft modeller", Haddock would kill me, but maybe a few more models like the one I did of the Ilyushin Il28 Beagle ????
