Title: Southwell show.
Post by: Haddock on October 20, 2015, 03:51:44 PM
These are the only pictures I took at Southwell, this little gem won the ships section. Some said I was robbed, don't agree, the modeller has captured the look perfectly, the result is exquisite, well deserved in my opinion. You can tell the size of it by the hairy arm in the background!

Hi Haddock,

That's a very nice model in its own right from the pictures you provide.

It is a credit that a modeller of your skill who is willing to recognise and appreciate the work of the winning competitor despite others feeling your big and impressive Battleship ought to have won.

I know that you would be the first to congratulate the winner. Its nice to win sometimes, but sometimes its a better man who recognises he has been beaten by an excellent and worthy competitor and fellow modeller. You don't feel cheated, you feel admiration for that person.

Well Done anyway, I think you got second place on the day didn't you?

Engineer's are in a different league of their own.

They exceed in detail and skill, Gentlemen are that breed of intelligent yet human individuals, who recognise others abilities and praise them, when they exceed their own personal levels.

Hi Zak,

Glad your back from Oz, been quiet without your input on a regular basis.

No I am not on a drugs..................though I wish I was at times..!

I was merely making the comment that Haddock is both a Gentleman and an Engineer. He sits firmly in both camps as do a lot of modellers.

Welcome back, did you bring me a didgery-do?

No, but I did find a super model shop in Perth, sorry, no photos.
It was lots of different rooms each with a different theme.
Unfortunately the kits were much the same as here.
Lots of different glues and solvents for sale, even MEK  as it used to be - that's methyl ethyl ketone to you.
Haddock an engineer and a gentleman? mmmmmmmmm..I will have to give that some thought.

I hope you were not talking about me Kevin.
I am an engineer and definitely have NEVER been a gentleman.
Did you bring me a didgery-do Zak and on that point did you bring back a "donkey in a sun hat" Kevin.

Oh Haddock,

But you're our 'Old Fart', and to us you are still an Engineer, and a  Gentleman...................

Could this be the title of a new film...................?
