My good lady and I visited our first ever model show at the weekend. The show was a small affair in the village of Heiden about 30 mins from home, so ideally placed. I will be submitting an article with a couple of piccies for the newsletter detailing the visit so won`t double up here. However for those of you that log on here and use this forum you get to see the superb examples of model making that we witnessed. For those who can`t be bothered to log on then they will have to make do with the 2 or 3 pictures that I may include in my newsletter article.
So here are examples of what the germans can do......not a swastika in sight by the way. Check out the scrap yard.....marvelous!

Nice stuff, they seem very keen on the diorama. Could be anywhere in the world really. Just a bunch of old farts with a common interest. Long may it continue.
Haddock.
Nice to see that there are so many sad people in the world.
Great stuff.
I had a good chat with Kitey-Babe on Sunday and he told me all about it in great detail. One of the exhibitors was the Mid Sussex IPMS branch - their secretary, Dave Allen, was astonished that a Lancashire man living in Germany was a member of a Yorkshire model club that he had never actually been to!
So, here are the rest of the piccies. I had to take a break from uploading.....

What scale was the Holt 75hp tractor?
The second one down in the last lot.
Just curious, it doesn't look like the Resicast one.
I couldn`t say what scale but I can say that the tractor was about 4 inches long if that helps.

It must be 1/76 or 1/72 as mine is twice that size.
I am not bragging.
Hi Kiteman,
Thanks for the great pictures. Its true that modellers are the same all over, wherever they live.
Some pretty amazing stuff, and diorama's on show, and yes I think the scrapyard an inspired one.
One question though............................Did you (or were you allowed) to buy anything with Mrs S in attendance??
Great stuff,
Bigkev
Hi Kiteman,
Nice to see the NEW Revell Focke-Wulf 190 in 1/32 scale amongst your pictures.
It hasn't been released here yet, though is in the modelling press as imminent.
Cheers,
Bigkev
Yes I did manage to buy a few things. Mrs S, or Doro as she is called, encourages me to purchase things....I am a lucky man!
My final list of bought goodies was; 2 paintbrushes, 6 G clamps, some new small drills, a new cutting board, a Balsa kit Hurricane Mk1, and in plastic I got the Focke Achgelis in 1;48 from Fly, Morane Saulnier MS 406c.1 in 1:48 from AZ Models, U-2/Po-2VS Biplane in 1:48 from ICM and a Mk1 Fairey Firefly in 1:48 from AZ Models.
That was all.
