Title: MATADOR MODELS - ANYONE KNOW THEM?
Post by: Wizzel on September 29, 2014, 04:04:04 PM
I spotted an ad in an old SAMI for this company that produce plenty of Great War stuff - mainly in white metal and resin - presumably for wargamers?  The website is www.matadormodels.co.uk but unfortunately there is no way to contact them other than fax or post (a bit bizarre for a business I think).

There is a lot of stuff on there that interests me for the Thirtle Bridge Camp diorama - providing it is 1/72 scale which the catalogue does not state and although most of their stuff is 1/72 or 1/76 there is some larger scale stuff too.  The prices would suggest it is 1/72 but I'm not familiar with buying white metal so I cannot confirm this and am not wanting to place an order until I know for sure what I am ordering.  I wrote them a note and faxed it over but have had no response to date.  Can anyone help???

Cheers in advance,

Dave M

Some of there stuff was on sale at our show, I spotted a Whippet and some conversions for WW1 tanks.
I have never dealt with them.
Some of our members are going to the IPMS do at Telford and if you have a wish list well just maybe........
I have come across rumblings about Matador on the web, it seemed to be about contact difficulties and outstanding orders.
Cheers
Dave

Thanks Dave.  You may have confirmed my fears - I'm always wary when you can't physically speak to a business.  I'll have to weigh up the hassle of chasing up orders against the benefits of owning some 1/72 great war stuff.  Maybe get myself registered with some forums and do a bit of research on them.

Thanks again.

Hi Wizzel,

Yes, you are like me, if you cannot contact them easily the alarm bells ring. Perhaps if you give one of the 'Telford Five' your wants we can look out for them, or even get more information if Matador are there with stand.
