Title: Dioramas
Post by: bridlufc on November 13, 2013, 10:55:59 PM
After doing a bit of railway modelling over the years, and having access to the dearth of card kits available to railway modellers, I wondered what sort of card kits were available to plastic modellers, not a lot it seems. The obvious place to look was Ebay  and I found Noys miniatures that do revetments and runways in various scales and timaru2 that does an old aerodrome  large display stand. Apart from that it is very disappointing but hopefully someone will soon be forthcoming with something for the plastic modeller

There are lots of plastic houses, bunkers and so on available.

Maybe I should have been more specific. I was referring to, with the aircraft modeller in mind, blast walls, revetments, runway surfaces etc and the occasional building that house aircraft such as hangars or workshops in 1/72 or 1/48 scale.

I have been having a mooch about recently but it seems we're stuck with scratch-building.  Kiteman is constructing a 1/48 spitfire diorama (see Dec newsletter) and has got a few bits from craft shops in Germland, but on the whole it's hard to find even stuff like paper brickwork cladding.

Cropper sells brick paper and plastic card brickwork in both OO and N.
