This is the 1997 Revell kit of another 'What if' from the Blohm und Voss design bureau. Yes it's a plane Martin but Blohm und Voss were initially shipbuilders so this nearly counts in your book!!!! Molded on two grey sprues with a clear one for the canopy an 11 page instruction booklet and decals for two options. Unfortunately one of them has the Geschwader code S3 which was a Transport Staffel, for a Schlachtgruppe aircraft it should be S2. So it will be into the references and spare decals for something appropriate.
The build doesn't start with the cockpit as is usual for aircraft but with the wing sections and then joining the fuselage after adding the bomb bay and tailwheel, all done after pre-painting. So far John this model looks like it won't make it into the SIG we discussed.
Will you start walking lop sided with all these asymmetrical models you're building now? Hahaha
Watching with interest, good luck with the build.
I do already or haven't you noticed, lol!!!

No, not noticed that. Maybe I have a matching lean so you appear fully upright, ha,ha,ha, :)
You'll soon have a whole squadron of 'what ifs' Chris. Keep going.
The cockpit was made up and painted RLM 66 with details picked out in black, red and silver with the sides being RLM 02 Grau once the fuselage was closed up and the jet engine fitted the fuselage, wing sections, body and tail section were joined together with some adjustment and filler needed. The front part of the canopy has been glued in place and the masks from the P.193 did fit, bonus, with the rear part masked using tape and Maskol before temporarily glueing with Elmer's. The main wheel wells were filled with masking putty and then a coat of Hycote primer was applied. Once dry The engine cowling and the rudder were sprayed white followed by a couple of coats of Vallejo RLM 04 Gelb which when dry was masked. Some preshading was attempted on the rest of the aircraft using Vallejo Black, note the word 'attempted' followed by a coat of Vallejo RLM 78 Hellblau.
Now that's beginning to look very nice. Great work on the pre-shading, it takes a lot of patience and perseverance. Looking forward to seeing it up on it's legs and the camouflage applied.
Nice work.
A coat of Xtracrylic RLM 82 Dunklegrun was applied and once dry this was followed Vallejo RLM 81 v3 Braunviolett. Whilst applying these I noticed that I'd missed an area at the rear of the fuselage when I painted the RLM 78 so it's been painted in Humbrol RLM 02 Grau to look like a repair. The areas coated in chipping fluid were wetted and scratched using a cocktail stick. Once all was dry a coat of Klear has been brushed on ready for the decals.
You're cracking on with this Chris. Good work.
When I checked the airframe after painting there was a seam on the upper fuselage that I hadn't seen previously so I hid this with a length of Evergreen strip painted RLM 70. It could be a wiring conduit or a strengthening rib, who knows? Decals were applied mostly from the kit ones with the stencils taking up most of the time. As mentioned before the kit markings are wrong so after going through references and checking my stock I went for the 'easy' option of White 3 from I/SG4 (Schlachtgeschwader - close support/ground attack wing 4), with the swastikas coming from stock. Once all applied and settled in with Micro Sol they were given a coat of satin varnish followed by Flory washes and exhaust stains from Revell powder. The bombs had been fixed in place ad the bomb bay doors cut and altered as per the instructions. All that was left to do then was remove the canopy maskings, tidy the framework up and reposition the rear section.
Look typical B&V, ungainly to say the least!
Cabin front end reminds me of a Brontosaurus for some reason. Either that or my meds are wearing off.
Great model Chris. Excellent work.
