Just started this while I finish off the 1/32 one.
So far I have spent about 4 hours on the interior.
Adding a base coat, adding slightly lighter areas, varnish then an oil wash in the crevasses and some lighter oils on the surface for a worn look.
The control panel as well.
4 hours well spent by the look of it :) :)
Nice work.
As Martin says 4 hours well spent.
Totally agree, great work.
Thanks for the comments.
Cockpit module assembled.
Lots of detail and great brush work there.
Lots of detail, looking good.

Loads and loads of detail. Not surprised at the amount of time you've spent on the cockpit. Great work Dave.
Once again, thanks, onto the engine next.
Engine construction and painting.
You're not hanging around.
Dear Speedy,
That is looking great.
Kevin
Dry run, just to check that all the parts will fit in and seat correctly.
Some slight warping on the fuselage may cause a problem.
May need to clamp it all up when I assemble it and let the glue set!
Looking very good Dave.
Unfortunately, the fit of the wing parts to the fuselage and each other is not the best, Some warping of the parts possibly.
Anyway, it may take me some time to sort this out. Watch this space!
Some time - is that about 20mins hohoho - the model looking great and very detailed.
Looking great Dave.

I started out really liking this kit, the engine and the cockpit went together well and I was impressed with the fit of parts, now, however I am beginning to hate it quite a lot.
Lots of trouble fitting the fuselage and wings together, the fit was not very good.
It is quite a large model to handle and deal with.
I attempted to build and paint it in parts and then assemble these, the poor fit negated this approach.
This may end up on the shelf of shame.
Here it is so far, I was attempting a sort of worn and weary look, I think I have overdone it.
Much filling and cleaning up was required and I am losing heart.
I will finish it, but the standard will not be that good.
Here are some photos,
Pilot and gunner assembled, some filling and cleaning up still required.
I wouldn't worry about over doing the worn and weary look they took a lot of wear and tear in the field.
It's looking great...
... the camouflage pattern looks 'spot on'!!!
It will look well on the Battle of Britain SIG stand at Telford this coming November!!!
Tally Ho!

I fitted the full engine and then found the panels did not fit well, something I will have to live with I guess.
A common dilemma. If the engine is to scale panels don't fit. Reducing the engine scale helps the panels fit but then the under scale looks odd when exposed.

I am not going to expose mine!
Decals applied.
Nice Zak,
What were the decals like to apply?

Not too bad, it was a re-run, not the original kit.
Just the odd bit to finish now, canopy, crew and aerial.
So what do I take away from this?
Well 1:24 scale aircraft are a tad too large for me to work on comfortably.
I think 1:32 is my limit.
Did I enjoy the build, some of it.
Why did I buy it, well Nathan at Mighty Lancer did me a good deal and I couldn't resist.
The photo shows a comparison of the sizes, 1:24 down to 1:72.
Buy more modern kits, the fit is so much better.
Will I heed my own advice? Time will tell, but I suspect not.
Looks like an advert for mounjaro weight loss, they get smaller from back to front.
Nice comparison picture.
Possible Club display at Shows? Nice to see them all together.
I think I am calling this finished.
Nice work. The figures make it look like its ready for action.
Well done.
Looks great what ime does it take off and fly round the room ::) ::) ::)
Looks fantastic. Well done.
Another excellent job. I like the picture with the various scales being displayed.

Looks excellent Dave. You have a mighty collection of Stukas now. I'll stick with 1/72nd scale kits -there is too mmuch space required for larger kits.
