Started this about a week ago. It was going to be a US Marines version (Korean war) but after some research I found that the Marines version had a straight tail boom. As a result the Whirlwind HAS.7 has a drooped tail boom. Now I need to buy the Italeri re-release of the straight tail boom version.

Just one kit.
Don't panic chaps. I don't have to buy a new kit. After dry fitting the tail boom found it was straight and not drooped as per the Italeri documentation. So back to plan A - US Marines in Korea.
Bet your wallet is happier at that..... :) :)

I do have a picture of an orange one, but this one will be dark blue.
Now ready for primer.
Looking good.
Will look smart in Dark Blue
Is this like the one Mickey Rooney flew in the film 'Bridges of Tok-Rei'?
If so have you a small enough figure to place alongside it?
Nice work.

Not seen the film. I don't think there will be a figure.
A nice shade of blue.

Will look really striking with I presume white lettering.
Is that US Midnight Blue?
Looks good Chris.

Sometimes called Blue Angels blue.
Finished. The only thing wrong with this kit was the documentation. It clearly shows the drooping tail - it has a straight tail. Anyway I was able to do the version I wanted. It all went together well.
Looks great
Looks very nice.
Smart job, nice work.
Looks great. I still have what I think is a 1/48 scale engine from one of these. I don't remember much about the kit or where the rest of it is now!!
Nice job Chris and rather handsome in a dark blue.
Thanks for the comments chaps.
