This is an American truck and it will (hopefully) have a trailer to tow.
Bos art work and parts list from the bottom of the box.
Bigger than the cars - so you MUST have got the extension built to the garage hohohho
That should keep you busy over the weekend.

Maybe Saturday for the Tractor unit, that'll give Zak time for the trailer on Sunday....hohoho

No chance, in between cooking, washing up, washing, ironing, cleaning up and ministering to Sandra, my time shrinks, especially with numerous hospital and doctors visits, Oh and the shopping, General dogsbody, that's me.
This is now on hold, only 9 tyres supplied and 10 are required.
Attempting to obtain another one.

Is this a moulding error or a missing part from the box?

I have requested help from the purchaser, it is a US kit so don't hold your breath.
TGhe Chassis takes shape.
Engine built, quite a lot of parts.
Being a rerun of an older kit, quite a bit of cleaning up is required.
A fair amount of detail.
Lots of Horse Power there.
One strange quirk in this kit is that the instruction sequence uses one set of numbers, whilst the number on the part, on the sprue is completely different. Some parts have no number on the sprue.
So you have to use this chart given to convert from one to the other, it does not make finding parts easy.
Engine and chassis painting just about there.
Just had a reply from Round 2 models, the replacement tyre should arrive in 2-3 weeks.
Wow!
I did not expect a reply.
Hi David,
We have received your parts request. Please allow 3 to 4 weeks to process through our parts department.

Good detail on the engine and good response for the missing part.
GREAT - you will be on the road in a few weeks then :D :D
Will you be singing '10 Wheels on my Wagon, and I'm just rolling along'.................when they arrive. Hohoho ;) ;)

Hopefully.
I am attempting to scratch build a tyre.
A balsa former coated with green stuff two part putty.
Give it a go and you still have the backup of the other new tyre arriving this year

You're always willing to have a go, give you that.
See how it turns out.
Difficult job lining up all the pipework for the exhausts and air intakes.
Looks like some good detail.
When I worked at BR Engineering in Doncaster I used to make white metal wheels and other bits using silicon moulds whilst on nights if we had finished our work. I call it 'Re-use of facilities' as I once went for a 'stroll' through the abandoned offices and found drawings for Churchill tank parts that were made there during the war.
Cab coming along.
I really don't like chrome parts, the bits where they have been removed from the sprue always show.
I touch up with a chrome pen.
Steady progress in the vehicle works of Bempton
All the chrome added, I knocked off the mirror while trying to take a photo.
Sounds like you have been taking lessons from me - about how to break bits off the model - even with the bit missing it looks great
Just about finished the build, decals to add next.
Decals added, now need to add the connectors from cab to trailer for hydraulics, air and electrics. I believe that they are called "suzie connectors" in the uk, and the colours are standardised.
Red- emergency line
Yellow-brakes
Black-primary electrical
Blue- auxiliary
Green-secondary electrical.
So can you see where this is going?
Yes, a trailer!
This is from AMT and is for Hauling 5 cars.
Box art.
Back axle under construction.
This is quite large and the sides and bottom took some glueing together.
Clamps used to keep things together while drying.
First side to bottom, this morning and then left for a couple of hours. The other side was then glued to the base, the top is not glued on, I used masking tape, but the roll would not behave as you can see.
As you can see from the ruler in the last shot, it is quite large!
Side line = is it glueing or gluing, I thought the latter was US and the former English? Does this site use US English? Having now checked apparently the correct term is gluing. Both terms have been used in the past.
You'll never get me to write sulfur though, for me its still sulphur. Whilst still teaching we had a directive to say all books would now spell it the US way -SULPHUR. Well did I? Never!
You'll be adding the five cars later then?
Quote from: chriswil42 on February 16, 2025, 01:45:49 PMYou'll be adding the five cars later then?
I've more or less got them, Land Rover, Range Rover, Nova Estate Car, 1957 Chevy and a Pontiac GTO, not forgetting the Monkee Mobile and the Ghostbusters machines.
Sizing it all up!
Wow, that is going to look impressive when finished and 'loaded'
Nice work.
The cab tilts as well.
This is gonna be a 'Show stopper' at at Shows!! I like how in America lorries going uphill slowly put on their hazards so you're aware they're moving slow. Plus I never saw a slow one trying to overtake a slower one, a lesson to be learned here I think?

I always found them great, pity about the car drivers though - a lot of tailgating!
I'm enjoying this build Dave. As a student I had a holiday job driving one of these for an antique furniture moving company that was nearly the same colour as your model. Starting up always created alarm amongst the peasantry as Mack Thermodyne engines use a compressed air reservoir to turn them over and it sounds like shotgun being fired.

The things students do, most of mine was driving tractors and ice cream vans.

A touch jealous, because I am!
This is going to take a lot of paint!
Hope you have got a good stock of paint then Dave.

Yes, stocked up on yellow.
I want the outside to be clean and shiny, but if this was a working car transporter then there would be some wear and tear, oil stains and rubbing and chafing where chains and ropes had been used to secure the cars in position.
So I have dry brushed some metal and added some stains and rusting, all along the inner and upper decks.
Wear and tear looks good.
Still awaiting the arrival of the missing tyre.
Meanwhile the top and bottom stuck together and the rear axle and wheels added.
The paint is a bit tacky, so more patience needed.
Still to add are the loading ramps, lights, decals and steps.
The truck yellow and the trailer yellow are slightly different - on purpose, but maybe I should have done them the same colours.
lights and steps added, decals next,
3 cars on the top looks unbalanced and overloaded, two would also go underneath.
The Range Rover is 1/24 not 1/25.
Looking very nice Zak.
Certainly is a beastie.
Looks impresive!!
Decals applied. Just a varnish now.
Very impressive Dave.
Connectors between truck and trailer - "Suzie's" in this country I believe.
Again very impressive detail.
Quote from: zak on February 21, 2025, 02:49:14 PMConnectors between truck and trailer - "Suzie's" in this country I believe.
Forgot to say, they were made from old telephone cable and then painted, the connection to the trailer is using Albion Alloys tubing, the connections are removable.
Getting better every time I check it out, well done.
Very realistic.
Still waiting for the wheel from the USA.
I wonder if it will ever arrive.
Probably will come with 25% Tariff, on orders of President Trump.........?
Quote from: Bigkev on March 04, 2025, 07:13:29 PMProbably will come with 25% Tariff, on orders of President Trump.........?
I never thought of that, and import duty and so on...............
Tell them you are Chinese not Canadian or Mexican and it might only be 10% tarif not 25% hohohho
I'm tyred of waiting. (mistake intended!)
Very realistic.

Just had an email, I asked where the part was:
Hi Dave,
I am sorry but we are really backed up in the parts department. Please allow a little more time.
I am very sorry for the delay.
At least they answered

Fingers crossed.
The tyre has arrived, took me ages to find the original, I had put it somewhere safe, found it eventually.
Exquisite. It was worth the wait.
