Title: AMT 1:25 57 Chevrolet Bel-Air H.T
Post by: zak on January 27, 2025, 03:41:02 PM
This came sealed in original cellophane and looked like a new offering, but you just know that when you open the box, it is an old kit.
Disappointed? not really, just more of a challenge.
The parts are not crisp and on the smaller parts the register is a bit out.

So cleaning up and removing the ejector pin marks and the flash prior to building the kit.
Test fitting parts before I spray the body - see I have learnt something.

I see you've axles in this, that's more than in some resin kits. American cars from that era seem more charasmatic than today due to all the things now banned for safety when hitted pedestrians (hmmm...), headlight eyelids, wings and big badges.

More engine detail.

Glazing attached, it was really a poor fit and a lot of messing to almost get it in, a few gaps to sort out.
I did remember the mirror though.
Seat belts added, they were included in the kit.
There are no painting instructions included in the kit, so best guesses!
Some chroming done on the side and around the windows.

Now waiting for the glue to dry.
Then to close it all up, but the fit does not look to be too good.

Almost there, decals applied to the sides, a few gold bits to paint, then varnish or not to varnish?
Those are drops of water on the decals, still to dry.

Thanks Kevin, but it needs to be even better, scorched earth policy is required really to keep the dust down.
Is this an new version of paintwork or is your chill spucker not working?

Looking good. You'll need to build a showroom next to put them all in. 'Dodgy Dave's Cars' - 'The cheapest in town'.
