As a follow on to the Monkeemobile, this is the donor car that was modified.
The kit give a number of different options whilst building the car.
I am going to go with the "stock" model, rather than a custom look.
The engine is similar to the Monkee one, it does have one or two defects/problems that I will attempt to research and rectify.
The engine has a large hole through it. I assume this is the accommodate the front axle.
The device attached to the fan belt floats in mid air?
I fabricated plug leads from very small diameter brass tube and fine wire.
Undercoating in progress.
There are a number of different roof options, I fancy the convertible at the moment, but who knows!
Into cars now Dave? Looks good. I like the detail for the spark-plug leads.
I agree with Chris. The plug leads are a great use of other materials to achieve a realistic look.
Are you into burning rubber now...........

Who knows, whatever takes my fancy.
I do find it hard to get a really shiny finish though.
Interior painted and fitted.
Engine in place, bracket added to the floating dynamo and a coil added for the ignition as well.
Meanwhile over in the paint shop -well the other side of the room, The body is receiving numerous coats of paint and sanding in-between them.
The underside of the chassis has been painted and muddied/rusted/weathered?
The underside is looking real good.

It is a one piece moulding, all the parts are there, just need painting!
Looking great and shiny as well
Not much progress, still adding a few more coats of paint and rubbing down on the body shell, hood and boot.
I think this is the best I can do with the paint, still a few blemishes - note to self, do better next time!
Meanwhile, its onto cleaning up the chrome and shading some of it and cleaning the transparent parts - they looked pretty good anyway.
Once the paint has cured, I will attempt a polish and then onto the assembly of all the parts.
Looks good to me.

Well, the photos look a lot better than the real thing.
I am unhappy with my paint finish, I have looked on line and watched various people and how they get the finish they want.
They all use different paint and different systems, but the main thing is allow the paint time to cure - maybe a week. Life is too short but I will give it a go.
Not known for my patience, it will be a trial, Paint it sand it, etc and leave it in a box in a warmish place - shades of Howard and the airing cupboard.
Here it is so far, the finish is not brilliant,
Meanwhile I have been compiling a list of things missing under the bonnet.
Radiator hoses
Heater hoses
Battery connections
Connections to the coil
Hydraulic lines
General wires and clutter to and from various components - dynamo etc.
Coolant system tank and overflow hoses.
The photos is as it is.
That list will keep you quiet for at least 20min hohohohho its looking good and I don't like cars that much :-\ :-\ :-\
You'll be a fully fledged mechanic by time this model is built...... :) :) :) :)
Great attention to detail. Loveley.
It's looking rather good Dave.
A few wires/hoses added, I don't want to overdo it, so that is it.
Need to paint one by the coil!
A few bits of chrome to sort and then that finish to deal with!
Before and after for comparison.
Looking 'more the business' now. Good work Dave.
I will not be daft and say which is which hohohoho Its looking very professional
I think this is as far as I can go, the finish is still poor and I am struggling to improve it.
Finished!!!
Looking very good Dave. Nicely finished.
A smart looking Pontiac nonetheless.
Nice work and attention to detail.
As long as you got enjoyment and satisfaction out of the build, is all that matters.
Yes, nice work under the bonnet.
