Something different from THUNDERBIRDS, but still TV/Film related.
Any ideas about the car owner(s)?
Is it a batmobile?
No, but from the body shape, I see where you are coming from.
Perhaps a few more clues.
It was produced in 1967 and only 2 were made, one for the TV show and the other for promotional work.
Hmmmm.....
Some photos to tempt you into a guess.
How about Knightrider >:( >:( >:(
Body undercoated.
This may give the game away.

Not the Flintstones.
Th initial coat of colour applied, this will be allowed to dry and then sanded and more coats will be added.
THIS SHOULD BE A REAL GIVEAWAY.
The car is based on a Pontiac GTO.
The kit instructions say that the car interior and roof should be tan, however looking on line, at the original they were white. Apparently under some studio lights and cameras they appeared tan.
The joys of research, what a minefield.
Later replicas may have had different colours but who knows.
The original car was left in Australia and then ended up in Puerto Rico, eventually purchased and refurbished, car 2 was bought by George Barris and a Tribute car and a further copy was also built.
Have you got it yet?
Mad Max
No, sorry, wrong again!
The Monkees car??
The Monkee mobile?

Hurrah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gold Star to that man.
Dash board/ instruments added and painted.
Red carpet on the floor pan.
Test fitting of the parts.
The hood does not sit right, so will have to alter its angle slightly before the final fitting.
We buy a model to build, we complain about the price, but do we then consider all the extras needed to build it?
Tools, paint and glue?
This kit has so far required the following paints:
White - gloss and matt
Black - " " "
Red - " " "
Tan
Plasma red
Silver
Blue green
Gold
Washes of various colours
Ink - black
Klear
Thinners
And glue:
Superglue
Tamiya cement
Tamiya Extra thin
Revell Contacta
PVA
Filler
Then tools as well.
So if you were just starting out, quite a daunting list!
Luckily most items are useful for other models.
So, I reckon, even without buying extras, just to build from the box, you probably double the price of the kit.
Don't forget the brain to put it all together ::) ::) ::) ::)

In most cases that comes free....................
First coat of gloss paint.

This list looks like a 'Barney's Bits List' from the last meeting.
Looks good Dave. You've cracked on with that one.
Nearly there, the parachute and roof still to add, and the decals transfers.
Decals Transfers -what to do, in early shots of the car on the series there are no transfers, and then there seem a variety of different ones.
I'll just add the ones I like the best.
So, decision made, here it is just about complete.
The roof is not attached, and maybe never will be.
That's one cool looking car. Are you starting another genre?

It is a distinct possibility.
I am going to make the donor car anyway, The Pontiac GTO.
Looking very nice Dave - terrific.
A hot looking machine methinks..........
Thanks for the comments.
