Started this at yesterday's playday.
Quite a lot done considering the amount of chatting going on!
I was surprised too.
Yes how did we do it, talking and working - - multi tasking don't tell "she who must be obeyed" or she will think I can do this at home as well ;D ;D ;D

You could be start of a whole new species........... :) :) :) :)
He is already!!!
Cabin mounted into the right fuselage half. It all fits together quite nicely. Very clean mouldings.
Nice work.
That's coming along nicely Chris.

Fuselage assembled. Nice mouldings but a tight fit.
It's a shame most of your work inside the cabin won't be seen, but at least you know it's there.
Just about ready for the primer.
Nice helicopter.
Looking like a 'Junglie' now.
Looks good Chris.

I think all Airfix more modern kits are a really good fit.

Definitely.
I'm tempted to build my Seaking HAR.3 after seeing and reading about Chris's helicopters.

Go on, start it Kevin.
Might need some pointers.
Are you and Jon available........?
First coat of olive drab applied.
Very drab!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But looks good.
Looking good. There's an article about HC.4s in February's SAM, intersting reading.
I might take a look.
Very nice Chris.

First attempt at adding the white camouflage. Needs a few coats of paint me thinks.
I'd assumed the stripes on the real thing were hand painted but they appear sharp edged in the photo in SAM. Perhaps they were masked? Oddly enough that photo shows one from 845 NAS landing on USNS Pecos in the Gulf, February 2002, whilst operating from HMS Illustrious!!! Either way your painting looks nice and crisp.
Some progress. This is taking a while. First coat of white - a couple more to go.
Getting a good cover with white is a challenge.
On reflection would it have been better to paint it white first then the green....?
I have some artist's acrylic white which I thin and lay down as a base before putting the usual, Vallejo, Tamiya etc., on top, that seems to work. The artist's is thick so does need thinning.

You're maybe right Kevin but then I think we might be in the inverse camouflage area (ie getting it wrong). I will persevere.
White camouflage completed.
It certainly stands out.
Love it 8) 8) 8) 8)
Can't work out how much use the scheme would be in the desert.... :o :o :o . :o ..
Only joking, you've made a good job of the paintwork Chris.
The camouflage certainly breaks up the lines of the aircraft.
They used to blend in nicely up in Norway, certainly looks nice Chris.

Complete. There were a lot of decals some of which I didn't bother with. A nice kit that went together well.
It will stand out from the crowd in that scheme.
Certainly an eye catching model. Nice work Chris.
Thanks for the comments.
Very nice Chris.
