No surprise here there is a Kiwi connection with this model.
G-BOAB was the first Concorde to visit New Zealand on the 6th of April 1986 commanded ironically by a Captain [John] Cook. That's enough for me to be interested in building a model of this most elegant aircraft and chancing upon a Revell 1/144 kit clinched it.
As a deceptive kit packaging exercise this is one of the most extreme. For a model that will be around 430x200 the 580x380x70 box is somewhat generous.
A little progress today. The fuselage together with added nose weight and seams cleaned up. I've also reprofiled the nose in front of the cockpit to improve the fit of the nose cone.
Should be a good build Francis. I like the NZ link.
Forgive the repeat, I'm still getting to grips posting under the new regime.

Hi Francis, you will get used to it..................eventually!
Hi Francis,
Hope you are feeling better, missed you at the last meeting.
Watching with interest,as I have built this kit also. It will be interesting to see how you tackle it, but I am sure you will do a cracking job. Like the NZ connection, and Captain Cook.
The new format s great when you get used to it. The model is comming along and will soon be flying at mach 7 - hohohho
Glazing for all the windows?
Some progress today fettling the fit of the wings to the fuselage.
.
Hi Francis,
Are you posting in invisible text.
The few pieces for the airframe have gone together pretty well and its been primed. There are a couple of blemishes to sort before some spot priming and finishing coats. Next will be the engines and undercarriage.
Thanks Dave.
Now then Kev, it's been a frustrating morning trying to post but it appears to be sorted now.

Glad you got sorted out.
Looking forward to seeing this completed, as no doubt you are!!! I've been trying to find a 'cheap' Concorde so I can convert it into the plane from 'The Man in the High Tower'.
Looks good so far Francis.
Hi Francis, glad you have overcome the website.
Thought you might have had problems. Nice to see your Concorde progressing so well.
Modelling is not as challenging as the website normally.
Nice to have you on board.
Kevin
Commenced decaling this morning and after cracking on for an hour I've placed 36 of the 120 or so decals and there's sod all to show for it. Time for a coffee break methinks.
I hate models with mountains of decals.
Day two of the decaling and there's still lot to go at. I'm persevering as it'll add a bit interest to what is otherwise just a fairly plain white, albeit an attractive looking aeroplane.
At least they're going on a white background. I sometimes wonder if it's worth putting black or red stencils on a dark background as you have to know they're there to see them!! I hope the coffee break helped relieve the stress Francis.
No doubt it will look very smart Francis.
The decalling stage seems to add 'life' to any project, this one won't be any different.
This morning I'm finishing the starboard engine. Once again decals, lots of them for such a small item.
It looks really good Francis. Your decal application is excellent and precise.
Nice work. Look forward to seeing this iconic aircraft when you've finished it.
Nice work on the decals Francis. Lòoking good.
That's underside finished save for a little last minute weathering after an overall clear coat. Next task is to tackle the top side with some rather daunting long fuselage stripes.
Impressive.
Very nice Francis.
You'd better have a lie down in a dark room with some cucumber slices on the eyelids to refresh them in readiness for the uppers.
Had a big push over the last couple of days to get this one of the bench. Rushing hasn't done it any favours and there are a few bits that I'm not best pleased with but it's done and escaped the shelf of great inertia.
That looks okay to me!
We all see our own shortfalls/problems in the models we make, so don't be too harsh a critic of your Concorde.
Great work.
Yes Francis we always see the very small faults in a model - but others don't.
You have another well finished model you should be proud of.
It's really good Francis. One to be proud of.
Looks great to me Francis.
