Just started this conversion. Looking through all the parts I think I'll be using a few parts from the donor kit (an Airfix one); some of the glazing, wheels and oleos, parts of the rotor hub. There'll be plenty of parts going into the spares box.
Hi Chris,
I suppose that you have an Airfix Lynx in your "substantial" stash to make this project work.
On the plus side, the spares box will get a boost.
Watching with interest.
Cockpit assembled and insides painted.
Ready for the weekend?
That's a good one Chris, looks interesting.
Airfix will bring one out before the end of the year now.

Don't upset him.........
But you're probably right.
Knowing my luck they'll issue it at the end of the month. I have a second one to build as well.
Double cursing then........
Just think of the FUN you will have building this one and the next befor Airfix bring a new model out >:( >:( >:(
Modelling IS fun isn't it?
Main cabin assembled. Tail and engine housing glued together.
Lots of filling to do.
looks good.
Nose added. Second photo shows the filling and blending to be done.
Looks like a major surgical job Chris and quite a bit of fettling to marry the resin and plastic bits.

It is certainly that Francis.
Most of the fuselage together with a 3mm gap to fill.
Still some filling and sanding to do. As the conversion kit was designed for the Hobby Boss kit and I am using the Airfix kit which requires modifications to the main rotor hub.
Keep at it.
It's slow.
Hi Chris,
This one is living up to its name. Certainly a 'Wildcat' and fighting you.
You need to get your Lion tamer suit on...........
Chris, I always have admiration for someone that is prepared to alter their kits to such an extent. I have a few brassin parts for different models but have never picked up the courage to do it yet, though that may change. So good on you.
Thanks Brian. I am getting there slowly.
Undercarriage on; tailplane on and cockpit glazing fitted. Some filling and finessing to do yet.
That's a big word "finessing"!
Looking good.
That is some hefty building work there Chris.
Looks like it will all come together nicely after your 'finessing'. Watching with interest.

This turning into an interesting looking beast.
Ready for masking then primer.
Are these normally a grey scheme?
Lots of masking to overcome first though........
Two shades of grey no less.
Only 48 to go then...........Hohoho
Hmmm...
Two tone grey. Some touching-up to do then on with the decals.
Decided the dark grey was too dark. Repainted in a lighter grey. It now looks nearer to the photos.
Looks good.
Coming along nicely Chris.

Just the decals to add now.
The finish line is in sight.
Now complete - a bit short on decals - I might add a couple more later. This conversion has been quite a bit of work; could have done better in places but I am fairly happy with the result.
Looks great Chris
The problem is that we all know where the faults lie in the kits we build.
It looks good to me.
It looks okay to me. As Zak says we can all see our own shortfalls in our builds.
I have never seen another, so hats off to you for going through all that work.
Thanks for the comments chaps.
