Sorry Bob BUT I am now going to destroy/make a pigs ear of a tank.
Its a Mk 1 and I will try and convert it to a Mk5 - main change is a shorter gun barrel as shown in last photo, new exhaust and get rid of the wheels at the back end.

Stbd side put together - now to make the other shorter brass gun barrel

All parts together just the new exhaust to make

You're getting on with this one Martin.

Just remember that this may not be any real tank, the one they measured up at Bovington was built from all sorts of odds and sods, so accuracy is dubious!

Sounds just like one of my models - rivet counters eat your heart out  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

				Hi Martin,
looks like you've caught 'Wayneitus' with this build.
What scheme will it appear in.......?
Kevin

Never could I get up to the speed of Wayne or even Zak  :P :P :P :P :P
Not decided yet about the colour scheme - could be a British colour being delivered to the docks in Russia, but I did see a good painting of one in White Russian colours during the Civil War at the battle of Kalkovka in 1920 - decisions decisions decisions  :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\

				That will be interesting.

Thought about doing the tank being offloaded from a ship - found this 1/700 scale crane ( was given the set a long time ago, think it was Kevin - so thanks Kevin) Put it together to see if it would just get away with the different scales - answer NO - so will use this on a dock sceane with another ship.  So if I do the tank and ship, will have to scratch build a crane  :o :o :o :o

Have you thought about the old Airfix /Dapol crane, might be suitable.
Kevin

looks good to me if you done get the tape measure out and i don't.
Bob c

Decided that I have a lot on at the moment ( new fence and sorting out the garden area by it , as well as lots of different models on the go) so don't want to build a crane and dock side and also part of a ships hull - so its back to plan A - battle of Kalkovka.
Crane will wait for a 1/700 ship to put alongside a dock area - bet that expands and grows into a dock yard and shipbuilding section as well - but heyho its all for fun  :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[

First couple of thin coats of biege on the tank

				A good muddy colour.

Tank traks painted with black grey, when dry will drybrush with brown and then pick out some parts with silver/graphite

Trundling along to the finish line nicely.
Looks good.
Kevin

This looks to be a 'sane' build, so when are you going off at a tangent?

Who me Chris - don't know what you mean hohohhoho

				Looks good Martin.

Base made and first section of foam added - now were shall I put the zombie, just for Chris to keep him happy hohoho  ;) ;) ;) ;)

				Under the tracks?

				Can be arranged - hohohhohohohoho-  squelch   :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\

Tenderized Zombies.....lovely
Kevin

You lot do like a zombie story, don't you hohhohohoho
Foam now cut to shape and some more added at the front.  When solid will give a coat of Plaster of Paris, then on with the fence posts, wire, grass and just for Chris some rubbish  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

First bit of filler added, to round off the foam sections and fill some of the gaps.  :P :P :P

Should be a good diorama Martin.

Also not a zombie in sight - well at the moment  ::) ::) ::) ::)

They are hiding underneath the earth.......
Kevin

I hope it's going along the road as it would never get over/down those inclines even with an unditching beam!!

If he has enough Zombies to push, he'll easily manage the terrain.
Kevin

Base plastered - that the models base NOT the base staff - but who knows  ;) ;) ;)

Looks like a chocolate log gone wrong.  ;😁😁😁

Looks like a chocolate log gone wrong.  ;😁😁😁
Maybe Twin Peaks!

				It's coming along nicely martin.
Bob c

A start made on the wood wall and general obstructions to add to the base

Eat your heart out, Ellie, 7 built this today and painted it.
Oh, the Spitfire too. especially for Neil!

I am not going up against a 7 year old - I know who will win and its not me  ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) Tell her she has done great and when does she take over the running of the club - hohohhoho

Fence and wire obstructions made - extra glue on the wire to try and make some thicker than others - just the grass to add when dry and solid.
Another thought - when does "EVIL Uncle Neil" tell Ellie the spitfire has the wrong colour and markings - tell her I will hold him while she kicks him - hohohohhohoho

Looking good Martin especially the barbed wire.

Good progress, a Zombie washing line.........!
Kevin

Grass added some 6mm near the fence and the wire and then some 2mm on the rest of the area.
Some gel added to form puddles in the ditch, when dry and clear will add some more to give depth.

A white tank from the civil war with the white/blue/red vertical markings from the Northwestern Army of General Yudenich in 1919

				Looking good Martin.

				Looking good, like the tank.
is that low entanglement wire.
Bob c

No Bob its left over rigging thread - you know me always the Yorkshireman - hohhoho
Next layer of gel added to the river bed.

				Suitably good trench work.

Sorting out the 1/72 scale figures to go on either side of the trench - yes Zak think your wonderful "medieval arkbalista" figures might make it as dead figures, but on which side hohohho  ::)  ::)  ::)

I'm sure you'll figure it out Matin.
Kevin

All figured out Kevin hohoho (from the back to the front in photo) 3 attacking with the tank, 2 dead in ditch and 2 defenders  :P  :P  :P  :P

				Dead on target!

				Not with my aim hohohho  :o  :o  :o  :o  :o  :o

New back, front and final position of the 2 figures in the ditch.  Now let Howard say the faces are not up to his standard - hohohhoho  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D

Block colour added to the figures

Going to be a good diorama Martin even without zombies.

Now thats an idea Chris - which side will they be on  >:(  >:(  >:(  >:(

Two figures in the ditch finished and fastened down - now doing the belts and bags on the others  :-\  :-\  :-\

Most of the bits and bobs done - a coat of flory wash in the morning and then decide if it needs more figures - that will make the brain hurt  :-\  :-\  :-\  :-\

				Looking good Martin.

5 more figures added to the base - now its just like Zak's Vietnam model - just missing a TANKer hohoho

				Wot?
No Shell tanker.
Kevin

				Where is the tank going?

Coat of Flory wash on the tank

Looks rough and ready. Well done.

				Where is the Shell logo?

Its on the Shell tanker sailing up the Mekong river to join your model hohohoh  ;D  ;D  ;D

Finished as far as I am concerned - now on with other ideas  :o  :o  :o  :o

				Ecxcellent Martin. ;D

Nice diorama, there tonight I presume?

Yes - so you can pull it to bits tonight

It looked the part at the meeting.
I didn't know about the numbers of the tanks that were involved/supplied to the Russians at the time, so that was interesting.
