Here is my next project. I am waiting to go to Halfords on Monday for some white paint for the Sea King.
Anyway I think this one will be quite a challenge - all resin parts and plenty of them.
A nice challenge for you.
take care with all that resin.

Shades of grey an blue I think.
Hi Chris,
Looks like a nice model.
Is this the amphibious version?
Along the lines of the Mil-8?
Will look nice in blue and grey.
Cheers

Ah, the joys of resin. Enjoy!!!

Yes it is the amphibious version of the Mi-8. There are a number of usable paint schemes - all blues and greys. I haven't decided exactly which yet to do. I think it may be some time before I get to the painting.
Cockpit and cabin mostly done. Slow.
I always think that it is a shame to cover up such nice detail.
Yes - I look at it as "if you can see it do it - if you can't don't bother" - but I am strange as Zak keeps telling me - hohohohoho
As it is its great Chris - wish I could do to that standard.

Yes I think you are right. Some of the mouldings are quite detailed.
Glazing done in each of the fuselage halves. The glazing can only be completed after assembly as the last panel of the windscreen is in the middle - so needs to be attached to both halves.
Hi Chris,
Nice work on that glazing.
Are they plastic or clear resin?

Wow! I bet that was exciting!
It was slow Howard!
Main rotor being pinned with short lengths of wire.
Fuselage mostly together - a bit more to do.

Good modelling going on there.
After a bit of a fight with the fuselage halves - one was a bit warped - I have finally managed to get them together and got the glazing in. Now to progress a bit quicker.

The joys of making models Chris - hohohohho - looking good
Ready for the primer. It's taken a while getting to this point.
It may have taken some time but the results are great
it's looking good.
Your getting there.
That is a Labour of Love, Chris.
Been a bit slow recently, but here are the undersides done in blue. Upper surfaces look like a a cmouflage pattern of an earth colour and a blue - grey. There's got be a grey somewhere.
Interesting shades of blue and grey.
That grey is just the primer. About to change.

We wait in anticipation = hohohho - don't say its going to be grey on top of the primer ;D ;D ;D ;D
Well he's got 50 shades to choose from!!!!!
Yep!
Main camouflage colours on. A light earth and blue for a change. Just the fine detailing to do before the decals.
looking great - I like the camouflage colours
I had to back track on this to see what the markings are as it's and interesting combination of colours.
You're getting there.
Nice Chris,
Who ever though there was only one shade of Grey?
Sorry, that maybe two, light and dark

This photo shows what I'm aiming for.
Polish markings?
So going by the photo it's a Polish Navy machine?

Yes that's correct. The kits are produced in Poland anyway and I think they are among the last to be using this helicopter. I think Ukraine may fly some also.

Whatever the livery, the build is outstanding.
Bigkev
Almost ready for decals.
Nice Chris,
No surprise in the quality of the build.
Bigkev
Thanks Kevin.
Now in the process of applying the decals. Having found that the decals with the kit are about 30% too large and are on a clear backing rather than white I've had to make some more. Now I've got to adjust some colurs on the decals that have some text. This build is going soemwhat slower than expected.
Looking good though, well done with making new transfers.
Looking great Chris.
looks Ferocious!!
Bigkev
Does it bite ?
Well done with the decals, that's another skill I've yet to try.
How about engineers ?

We are playing nicely. Ho ho ho.
Yes we are hohohohho
Queensbury Rules as a minimum please.

Model complete. This took somewhat longer than anticipated due to redoing the decals. The model should be a little lower at the back - really I should have reduced the length of the rear oleoes. Anyway I am reasonably happy with the result. It will be a while before I tackle the SAR version that I have in the stash.
Another great Helo - don't worry about the height nobody will notice even after you have told them
Thanks Martin.
Another great looking Model from Chris W, Hanger Home for Helicopters!
