I came across this article in my files.
It was in Seventy Second Scale Modeller and it was written for Neil.
He got some real stick from his readers as they wanted aircraft, not control towers.
It looks a good article. Obviously the readers were not doing dioramas.
We have come a long way from the time you just made a plane and that was that - now we put them into dioramas -- (am now going to fetch my tin hat and bunker down and wait for the flack and other incoming objects - hohohohohohoho)
What year was this interesting and informative article printed? Airfix Magazine were covering dioramas back in the 60s/70s, along with other Mags, if I remember correctly so these readers must have been real purists!!! We were at RAF Wombleton, near Kirkbymoorside, last week and the Watch Office there is still standing, along with a few other buildings, and will feature in my next 'Haver'.

Yes, I have seen it from the road.
What I'm suprised with, is that the original post was in written English.
We are probably old enough to have had it written in hyroglphics, though probably only those from Bempton, would be able to read it.
Cheers,
Bigkev
