My next project. A mix of plastic and brass work. This is quite a small model - I think it may take awhile.
-
SMALL -- that's an understatement if ever I heard one - good luck with this Chris
-
Looks interesting, do they supply a pilot, difficult to see on the photo?
-
No, I shall see if I can find anything suitable.
-
This photo shows first the etched brass and how the rotor blades were on the left. The centre is the two halves separated. On the right are the two halves glued together.
-
Don't you just love a bit of etched brass!
-
Do you have a swear box ready Chris - hohohho - ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)
-
Just brassed off!
-
So far not too bad - just time consuming.
-
No doubt you'll do it justice.
-
That?s a lot of brass.

Yeah. Got a bit of intricate bending to do. I've cut it out and now I'll sit and look at it for an hour or two before proceeding.
-
Yes, some serious thinking required.
-
I know that feeling at times!!!!
-
Rotor and other sub-assemblies done. Slow work.
-
Looking good.
-
Main sub-assembly done; bent brass added to floats. The bending of the brass took a little while.
-
That looks intricate. Plenty of money in the swear box no doubt?

I agree, love the brass.
-
Don't look too closely at the brass. Here it is with some more assemblies. Mainly the rotors left to do.
-
Fingers and eyes holding up, ok?
-
Not the sort of thing you want to dropping on the floor!!
Haddock.
-
Fingers and eyes holding up, ok?
I kniht so.
-
Just when you thought it couldn't get any fiddlier.
-
Some more bitts added.
-
Lots of little bits.
-
Slowly. Got the rotor assembly to start now.
-
More bits added. There was a template for the metal bent bits added.
-
Never mind the template, how was the language?
Looks good.
-
Respect.
Haddock.

Blue yes! Very fiddly - it took several goes to get the two pieces of wire on.
-
I found I had made an error with the rotor assemblies. I'd used the wrong part for the centres. The photos shows the correct patrs. The instruction sheet leaves a little to be desired.
-
Oh, much swearing again no doubt!

Yep!
-
Tut, tut, I never swear!

Easily done, is it a easy to rectify?

Dropped this from a height of about 4 inches. Now on the shelf of shame while I think about its recovery.

Oh no. Is it mendable?
-
With care, I think. When I'm in the right frame of mind.
-
Keep calm grasshopper - just let the tranquil thoughts flow through your body and the fingers will do the work - or just throw it against the wall and start another one - hohoho
-
I did think about the bin once or twice.
-
Resurrected from the shelf of shame. After several attempts sticking it all back together, some progress. Just the rotors to finish now.
-
Finished. A reasonable finish in the end. It was a real pig to make.
-
Well done.
-
You got there in the end Chris- eventually, or at least on the second attempt - it looks great not a bump or blemish to be seen ::) ::) ::)
-
It was rather delicate.
-
Well done for persevering. It looks like a damselfly on floats!!!!
-
Fine result Chris of an interesting machine.
-
Just found a figure I may be able to use as a pilot. It comes from the Airfix platform figures - I knew I had some somewhere.
-
The one on the left looks grumpy enough to be Zak - hohohohohho
-
Never, I must endeavour to increase my grumpiness!
-
Is that possible ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)
-
Always!
-
Yeah well the one on the left was too big, so I am trimming the one on the right.
-
Don't trim my grumpiness, please!
-
You! Grumpy?
-
Now complete with pilot.
-
I thought he would have been at the front!
