Hi chaps, just a few shots of the "Brookland Road Shipyard"
As you can see, everything has it's place.
Seen as I was having "visitors" I thought I'd better tidy up.
I've shown you mine, now you show me yours!
Haddock.
-
I put mine on here years ago, so have a look for it!
It is under Model Room revamp - its nothing like that now.
-
Here it is now, yes I do need to tidy up.
-
Very nice.
As it happens I've been tidying my model room up this afternoon...
... and have come to the conclusion I need a bigger model room!!!

Wheelbarrow principle, no matter how big it is you still fill it.
-
The workbench -- the spray booth is at the far end so the tube can be put out the window.
-
So that's where the magic happens.
-
I am saying nothing - either I will be moderated by Kevin or will be pulled up for the quality or ideas I have for my different models. Look on the bright side it keeps me away from normal people - hohoho

Hi Msea,
What size straightjacket are you?
I might just buy you an Hawaiian Design item for Christmas.
Cheers,
Bigkev
-
Thanks Kevin you are always thought full - hohoho
-
It's very reassuring to see the clutter you top modellers are able to build amongst. I though it was just me!
-
What do you mean clutter - I did a full tidy before the photo !!!!!
-
They say a tidy desk is the sign of a sick mind.
The clutter is Msea's way of appearing normal....ho,ho,ho

Normal?
You must be joking.
Normal?
-
What are you lot trying to say ???????? hohohoho
-
Hi All,
Well, seeing as we've been asked to show the workbench's we use.
Please find pictures of my modelling room.
Its not normally like this, there is generally 'stuff' all over the table top, and bits and pieces drying, awaiting further assembly.
Bigkev
-
I wish I could be that tidy.
Mines a tip.
-
Looks like you are about to do an operation not make a model -- how do you get it so clean/sorted/tidy/disgusting -- hohoho
-
Compared with mine, it looks like an operating theatre.
That probably why Kev's models are so immaculate.
Haddock.
-
Thought I would present a photo of my working area. The 3.7" takes centre stage!
-
Now we are ALL thinking what has he pixelated out in the top right hand corner

Is it something that might be foiblesque?
-
Well, it could be
1. A scene from 'Carry on England'
2. An Advert from the selection of 'Pin-Ups promoting Plastic Kits'
3. Foible references
4. Just a 'Wind Up'!!!

Or all of them?

Wow that’s tidy Kevin, better do something to my one before I takes picture.

Don't worry Bob, mine is always a mess.
-
Here's mine as is at the moment. If you're owt like me, after a project I have a massive tidy up and then once I get started, the clutter builds up again - though it's a tidy mess as I can lay my hands on anything I need - less the bits which drop to the carpet of course. I used to have an extension running at 90 degrees along the wall to the left but I dismantled that a few months back when all it was doing was collecting non-modelling related clutter. The resulting space has been used to stack boxes of car boot stuff which I WAS hoping to get rid of this year!!
I do have an air brush set up but as I very rarely use it, I keep it tucked away. The compressor is under the bench behind some useful stuff such as the lamp and a big piece of tree. If you look carefully, you can just see the pressure gauge.
-
With mug of tea as well -- hohoho
-
Very organised.
My problem is that I build two or three models at the same time, so never finish things at the same time - hence my mess - I envy you all your organised work spaces.
Oh well, back to the mess.

Oh well, back to the mess.
If I ever get to your level of output, I imagine I would have the same problem. I have several projects on the go at once too but generally smaller and easier to work around - or pack away into their boxes until it's their turn again.
-
Looks very well organised.
Haddock.
-
My workspace - in midflow:
One or two models I'm hoping to finish shortly.
Chris
-
It is still a lot more organised than mine.
-
What is the bit of paper on the left hand side Chris -- I think they are called instructions -- if you have time could you explain what instructions are for - hohoho.
-
In latin - mandata - are you not past instructions Martin? He he he - just for a change!
-
Another tidy bench, I'm starting to feel guilty now.
Haddock.
-
Bloomin Heck, or similar words, you lot are well catered for!
I have a cupboard and a fold away table that I put away each time!
Mind you, I am allowed some space in the Airing Cupboard!

Ah, that's your secret....
Often wondered how you always appear at the meetings looking fresh and wrinkle free.

this one is my one.

All this tidiness is starting to make me feel sea-sick.

Haddock.
There are some very tidy modellers out there.
I still prefer the messy approach.
-
I'm with you Zak
-
OK,
So here's mine.
I had the SAS in to tidy up first. You can see why I don't get much modeling done...
10 points go to anyone who can identify the Aircraft on the monitor.
Cheers,
Andy.
-
Is it a Mig 21 ??????
-
Nope. Newer...
-
Is it a Su 37 - or am on the wrong country ?????
-
Hi Andy,
Is it a F-18 or F-18 sub type?
Such as an FA-18?
Probably way off the mark.
Cheers,
Bigkev
-
Sorry MSea, Kevin got it.
Well done Kevin F18 it is.

Educated Guess Chaps!
Bit embarrassed now...….

Kevin you ARE the club geek. All those "what am I building now" posts from Kiteman and myself were guessed correctly by you instantly! Well done. MSea, a caption please....

Oh Bloomin heck,
Wish I had kept my suggestion to myself now.
Geeky or what?
Bigkev

Not so tidy now I have work in progress.

That's more like it.
A man can never have too many cutting mats!
Did you notice my new one?
-
No - it's not obvious! But I do see you have more than one.
-
Will you be using your new cutting mat to trim your beard ????????
-
I was beginning to think he looked like a slimmer version of another person.
Haddock.

Sorry Haddock,
I recommend you reduce the dosage of those tablets with that comment, slimmer.....???
Think he is growing hair on chin, to transplant onto the top of his head....
Sorry Zak,
Bigkev
-
Work bench before tidying up, and after the grand sort out.
Before you ask Zak - yes we have been in the loft sorting out stuff and found a case from her mothers and decided to use this as a table cloth -- very twee don't you think - hohoho.
Bob thought it was just my models that made him think I needed counselling ??????
-
Very nice, afternoon tea will be served.
-
What, no tiffin?
-
Well organised Martin.
-
Hi Msea,
I can see a new BBC programme in the making.
'How to make 'The Most Elegant 'Modelling Area'
Super Chic or what?
Bigkev
-
After seeing the recent posts of 'well maintained' modelling areas I thought I'd show a photo of the man cave in the loft where I've just moved back to after months of modelling in the conservatory and garden. Organised chaos doesn't begin to describe it.
-
A nice space though Chris.
-
Room to swing a cat !!!!
-
Looks fine to me, bit clean though.
Haddock.
-

Haddock.
Far too clean and tidy.
-
I don't seem to understand this concept "clean and tidy" you are talking about - hohohohoho
-
It’s not that bad, as long as you know where everything is that’s all that matters, when I tidy up I end up losing things.
-
Same here Bob. I used the 6ft rule for the photo so it's more untidy than it looks although I had hoovered the floor whilst I was also tidying Tracy's part of upstairs. I'm forever getting dust on the Klear I use so thought it was time for a tidy up. Memo to self 'a hoover WILL lift aerials off models!!!!'.
-
I use a make-up brush for the actual models. A hoover does not come anywhere near.
-
Found this string in the pictures at the top of the page when I logged on.
Just to update my model room, this what it looks like now - full of IKEA display cabinets and 2 benches - but as you can all see, its still as messy as always - hohohohho
-
A decent space Martin.
-
Yes Chris but it doesn't improve my modeling skills >:( >:( >:( >:( :( :( :( :(
-

I couldn't possibly comment.
-
Ah, I dream of a room like that. I had to get rid of most of my display cabinets when we moved, luckily they were from 2nd hand shops/auction houses so no great loss (?). I now have just the one in the front bedroom and everything else is in boxes in the first shed. I drew the line though at putting my reference books outside but still had to concede two shelves to Tracy :( The things we do for a quiet life, lol!!!!
