Just sorting out the next model for Playday/DooDahDay/Serious Modelling Day (take your pick hohoho )
Decided to get this out of the stash, got it at Telford a few years ago, now to decide how to make it.
To keep Haddock happy it should be in water so it could be waterlined and placed in 1937 England for the coronation of King George 6th, or it could be 1939 shelling Finland during the Winter War, or it could be 1940 alongside a jetty with flags and posters for the 70th anniversary of Lenin's birth, or it could be 1941 near Leningrad with some areas flooded to tilt her over and increase the range of her main guns to shell the attacking German troops, or it could be 1942 with her bow blown off and the ship raised to use the center and aft sections to be used in the defense of Leningrad, so lots to choose from. All would keep |Haddock happy but knowing I will get a clip round the ear, she will be made full hull and museum style on a plinth - so why. First have made her sister ship the Sevastopol in 1917 alongside a jetty, so been there done that. Looking at the shape of the hull after modernization in 1928/32 loved the hammer and sickle bow and funnel so this was a decider, also the chains running from the ford deck down to the plate under the bow, never seen this on another ship. Now must get some more 2 section etch brass rails and brass bar for replacements and some form of head protection for when Haddock sees me - hohoho
