Decided after looking through the built stash this was redundant, so will remove the gun and gun compartment and make an open box with some armament from the MinArt set of machine guns I got from Mighty Lancer last time he was open ( that seems about 3 years ago )
This will be another UAZA machine with lots of zombies ( just to keep Chris happy) and buildings and rubbish around - so on with the scratch building
-
Is that an ISU 120/122? Gun doesn't look chunky enough for a 152. But it's been a while since I researched Russian armour.
-
Yes Chris it was the Dragon JSU-122 tank destroyer. I still have the Italeri ISU-152 to put into a Berlin scene.
The photo shows the gun removed - did this by chain drilling so I could do it in the garden because "she who must be obeyed" was out reading and we could then chat while I was doing the model.
-
What! More rubbish strewn around!
-
How cruel you are Chris - saying my models are rubbish - hohohohho.. If you don't put things in the diorama they look very clinical and bare.
-
Templates made for the open box and then made from 1.5mm acrylic - now to sort out the position of the drivers window ( zombies don't fire guns so it can be like a large car window to give the driver a clear view of the road ) and just to keep Chris happy will smear the front and window with blood splatter and have a windscreen wiper to give the driver a section to look out of.

Yes I must get around to having a go at a diorama - working on an idea. Don't hold your breath though.
-
Box put together - now to clean up the outside and make a seat for the driver and bits and bobs inside the box such as radios ammunition etc.
-
I still wonder where the ideas come from, your zombie world must be a strange place.
-
from my head which is a very very strange place - hohohoho
-
Need we say more?
-
Just exactly how many empty bottles of Kraken have you got in your bin? Lol!!!
-
Just exactly how many empty bottles of Kraken have you got in your bin? Lol!!!
Not enough
-
Seat for the driver made, just needs a stand for it to sit on. The drivers window and frame have now also been made.
Decided that the building in the background would be a row of single level shut up shops, covered with graffiti, so roller doors and wood covered windows now how do you make them ????.
-
The box made for the row of shops, the front of the shops will be made from acrylic strip to give different depths.
Now who's name shall I put on the front as graffiti
-
And there was a great silence from all members of the club.
-

Duck, quickly chaps.
-
You know me I don't discriminate - I go for everybody - hohohoho
Back to the model, plastic marked for the size of breeze blocks and then fastened to the end wall. Wood strips glued onto the top of the building to have the shop sign added later. Now to start on the metal roller doors.
-
Roller door and side sections fastened together.
-
Top bar added and a coat of rust colour.
-
Some colour on the door and a start made on adding the graffiti.
-
Many thanks for the mention.
Don't forget others, they will get jealous.
Neil's Necromancers, Kev's Killers, Beestings Boys and many others.
-
Thanks for those Zak -- you forgot Robo Rules ??? or at least he thinks he does - - hohohoho
-
What did you make the roller door from Martin?
-
Just a section of 1.5mm acrylic and scored it across, then a bit of "H" section bar on the sides with the door wedged in then a square section for the top.
Decided one of the shops will be "Chris Wilson" Radio Controlled Helicopter Specialist -- now who do I know with a name like that and an interest in helicopters ??????

Drones as well maybe?
You do drone on sometimes, as we all do!
-
HoHoHoHo drone drone drone -- or should that be DroDroDroDro
-
Ah, recognition at last. And whose droning on?
-
Ah, recognition at last. And whose droning on?
We aim to please
-
Ah, recognition at last. And whose droning on?
Martin, who else could do it so well!
-
I am making no comment about any of the above.
Both signs now made and fitted.
-
That should be enough wine bottles for the next committee meeting - hohohohoho
-

Which method did you use?
-
Tried the cotton wool bud but as it was very very thin plastic tube could not get it to work so did the same with sprue and then cleaned some up with a file. Made lots so could use the best on display and the not so good ones place in one of the bins in a diorama. Thanks for the suggestions of how to do them.
-
I think you need some counselling, only joking maybe, but as always they look good.
-
Yep, that boy needs therapy!!!
-
Shop fronts looking good Martin. I'll keep quiet in future.
-
Don't bother Chris - being quiet will not work - hohohoho
-
The club seems to be getting a taste for Diorama building.
Nice work Martin.
Andy.

Hi Msea,
'YOU' …… seem to have started some sort of diorama fetish with all these brilliant Diorama's
Perhaps we have all been 'infected' by the 'Msea Diorama virus', and hopefully more models will be displayed in a diorama or suitable base in future.
Bigkev
-
Brilliant!....weird, but Brilliant!
-
A little more work done on the shop front. When dry will paint the wood frames for Chris shop and then cover them all up with boards and graffiti.
-
Yes dioramas are the in vogue thing.
I'm even getting itchy fingers to start having a go at one with such superb work to enthuse.
-
The wood for boarding up the windows all painted in different shades of brown/grey. The old sections of wood will have old graffiti added and put into place upside down to show they have been reused, then new graffiti added on top of this.
The end wall is part painted with a cartoon about zombies that I found on the internet.
-
There no (h)arm in that.
-
That's a very armless joke -- I like it
-
More work done on the graffiti
-
Wish you wouldn't paint pictures of me.
Nice work,
Andy.
-
I thought it was a self portrait - hohohoho
The wood sections have had a coat of smoke colour to dull the graffiti down. The sheets have been put on upside down and the other one put on its side, so that they look like they are recycled bits .
-
New graffiti on top of the old.
-
New graffiti on top of the old.
Can I call you 'Banksy' from now on...…
All this excellent wall art merits and deserves the praise.
But, I bet the real Banksy does not wear flamboyant Hawaiian Shirts, people would probably notice him.....
Nice work Msea, a credit to the club, not as famous as 'Banksy' yet, but we live in hope...
Bigkev
-
Thanks Kevin - have never done graffiti for real but am enjoying doing the scale version.
Been in the loft sorting out stuff so only bit of modelling was to cut another section of MDF for the pavement, when I have time will give the pavement and road a coat of plaster of Paris so I can score into it for the pattern.
-
Who is Lisa Perettt?
-
Who is Lisa Perettt?
Wouldn't you like to know !!!!! really its one of my best friends, we met while teaching. She does a lot of textile work and goes under her maiden name - so thought I would make the shop one for her.
-
Excellent work Martin. You will be up there with Banksy soon.
-
I'm loving all the dioramas being made. If I could get rid of Tracy's crafting stuff I'd have room to make more. lol!!!

Don't you have a bin -- hohohho
-
First photo shows holes cut into the road and pavement for drains. Second photo shows a coat of filler on both road and pavement.
-
Nice to see you 'plastered again'
Cheers,
Bigkev
-
That may be Driffield main street in a few years.
Great work.
Andy.
-
I think it might be a lot of high streets in a few years time Andy !!!!!
-
Drain covers - on the left a trial using brass rod soldered together, not good enough and then tried just drilling and cutting out the shape from a bit of thick foil.
-
Great stuff again!
-
A manhole cover made from 2 sections of acrylic. The top section has had holes drilled into it and this section will be fastened to the solid bottom section..
The polyfiller on the road has had a hole cut into it, to put the manhole cover into. Next job is to get some colour on the road, then add the manhole cover and the 2 drain covers.
-
Nice, very enterprising, I like the style.
-
Thank you -- its all out of my head - hohohohoho
-

And there is enough left to build a sideboard - one of my mother's sayings when my dad had built something out of wood, from a design in his head.

Is this the religious side to you Msea,
All Hole(y).
Cheers,
Bigkev
-
Will not mention religion - don't wish to be hit with a thunderbolt again !!!
First coat of colour on the road and pavement and a coat of pledge on top of this, ready for a couple of coats of wash.
Second photo shows the open machine gun box with coat of green on the outside ( lighter shade than the tank, to show that its an addition to the tank) and a coat of pale grey on the inside.
-
Two panels for the driver to give information and control switches.
-
Two panels for the driver to give information and control switches.
I see you are switched on.
-
Will soon be switched on - the control wires and pipes have now been fitted to the side of the cabin. The 2 driving handles have also been fitted, when solid and the panels have been painted, will fit them on top of the pipes.
-
Martin switched on. I think we'll be looking for the off switch!
-
Just you wait Chris --- hohohoho
One of the machine guns started to go inside the open box, will remove the wheels and place on a swivel gun stand.
-
Barrel and shield added to the machine gun, when solid will add the last little parts.
-
Two panels for the driver to give information and control switches.
I see you are switched on.
Hi Msea,
Never noticed those two bolts on each side of your neck.
Good news, Thunderstorms are predicted for the next few days.
Get Joyce to stand you are out in the garden, you might 'strike' lucky!
In between recharge, modelling skills are very apparent.
Cheers,
Bigkev
-
Still looking for thr off switch. Ho ho ho ho
-
Drivers position finished.
The off switch is on the panel to the drivers left and in the middle of the panel - if you need to use it Chris - hohohohoho
-
Did you model the chair on yours from Shackleton's?
-
Did you model the chair on yours from Shackleton's?
No Chris - on the one you use - hohohohoho
-
Like the colour of you seat. very 70s.
Andy.
-
Next machine gun under construction - next job is to bend and then add the very small brass bits - listen for the naughty nautical language !!!!!!
-
More magic!
-
Ammunition belts and last control handles added to the machine gun.
-
Nice clothes peg - like you I find them very useful.
-
Nice clothes peg - like you I find them very useful.
Well! you learn something every day! I've never thought of using them. Thanks for the idea!
-
Pegs are great - decided this time to not use the grip part but fastened a bit of double sided tape to the top of the peg and fastened the machine gun to this to hold while assembling and then painting.
-
2 bits of etch brass fastened together and a third fastened to the ammunition box - must be soft brass, it bent well and into the correct position without any naughty nautical language.
-
A DP and a DT 7.62mm light machine gun made
-
Looking Good,
Bigkev
-
Some colour on the machine guns
-
Pegs as well.
-
Pegs as well.
How can you work without them - hohohohohoho
-
A trip into the loft and looking through the stash to find some figures to go inside the "street cleaner" machine.
They are a mix of Tamiya and Airfix some 1/35 and others 1/32 - I look at it that everybody is different sizes so they will do for me ( rivet counters eat your heart out )
-
And where are the zombies?
-
At the moment they have run away Chris - was going to have one standing in front of the street cleaning machine , but have decided to wait and see how it looks with just the machine and the road ????
-
You could rechristen the diorama 'where are they now!'
-
I could call it "Where's
Zombie Chris" -- hohohohohoho
-
Building helicopters, of course.
-
Frames made for the 2 models and the second photo shows them after a coat of black paint.
-
Framed again.
-
Framed again.
Hi Zak,
No he's not been framed, he definitely did it!
Bigkev
-
Who me ?
-
Maybe it was the zombies!!!
-
A start made on some of the rubbish added to the pavement and a home made dustbin as well.
-
Excellent rubbish!
-
Thanks Chris
-
Yes, excellent rubbish.
You haven't lost your touch.
Bigkev
-
Modelled on Hornsea sea front after the weekend visitors!
-
Open box added to the tank - next job is putting some filler in and touching up the paint job.
-
So many builds, so many different subjects.
How do you manage to keep them all in the modelling loop at the same time.
Love the 'alternative' look of this subject.
Cheers,
Bigkev
-
Do a bit of one, change to another and then back to a third - keeps the brain ticking over - hohohohoho
-

And also able to work on one while the others are drying/setting etc.
-
A man after my own heart. Never stop modelling once you're in the groove!!!!
-
No sloped armor Martin...
Nice work.
Andy.
-

Not needed Andy, the zombies don't have anti tank guns. They are just run down and the box is to protect the occupants from incoming splatter.
-
First time use of Vallejo putty - very good nozzle with soft easy to apply material, have tried to create a run of weld fastening the open box to the tank body.
Looks OK to me will see how it is after drying overnight, it says you can just remove any extra with water while it is still wet, will have to try that -- I sound like one of those people on the internet " I use this and that product because its the best thing going, nothing to do with the fact that I have been given the product, or am getting paid to say this" Think I will go and get a coffee as I am sounding very very cynical, and you all know that's not me - hohohohohohohohohohho
-
I should have said "got the product from Model Hobbies" but in truth they have been excellent, especially Danielle who sorted out my question straight away - now I must go and get a coffee before I sound like somebody else who you would not trust.
-
I use Deluxe Models Perfect Putty and you can use a wet finger to smooth it down.
-
I've found that the Vallejo putty lifts very easily when trying to smooth it out with a little water and is not as friendly when sanding as it's said to be. But that could just be me. PPP my filler of choice.

Hi Chris,
I have had similar expericenes with Vallejo, probably not quite robust as PPP.

A different colour on the open box and the blood splatter added to the front - masking tape to be removed showing the windscreen wiper area.
Driver fitted - just noticed I have not painted his hair - don't photos show up the mistakes.
-
He could be blonde.
-
No he is a club member so it must be grey - hohohoho
-
No he is a club member so it must be grey - hohohoho
Or, just leave it at none!
-
Yes that covers a number of us.
-
I’ll have to get my afv recognition up to dated.
-
Well its only been two years before removing the masking tape off the windscreen - must be some type of record ::) ::) ::) ::)
Now to find the box with the figures and machine guns in it >:( >:( >:( >:(
Then at least Chris will be happy that the zombies are out again ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
Some newspapers and magazines made to put on the road - more rubbish to keep Chris happy ::) ::) ::)
-
More bits and bobs to go in the street, just needs some rust paint and dirt - do you recognize anything Haddock ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
PVA and small broken up brick added to the base.
When dry and solid will shake off the extra loose brick and then add some powdered brick to blend it all in, then its adding the rest of the rubbish to the street. Starting to look like the street I live on, just needs messing up some more - YoHoHo
-
Looking very good Martin. It even has the Banksie-esque wall art. The rubbishy publications are great.
-

Banksie style rat was on the other model but this one only has the zombie with/without balloon - all hand painted.
The last 3 photos are the small loose brick removed from the base and then PVA and brick dust added - when dry will remove all loose stuff and see how it has ended up.
-
Where do you get your ideas from, but looking good.
Bob c
-
Out of my head - its a very strange place - yohoho
-
Can't get a stranger place.
-
More papers and other bits and bobs added to the street - thank Haddock for the gears etc..
Will not make any political comment about the papers and the time we are living through - but doesn't history repeat itself.
-
Are you running for office?
-
Very good Martin - nice rubbish. I'd fogotten about the name on the shop!
-
Are you running for office?
Thought I might - could you imagine the world with ME in charge :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\
-
probably no more chaotic than it is now!
-
Ohhhh I think you have down graded my skills of causing trouble in your mind - hohoohohoho
-
Are you running for office?
Thought I might - could you imagine the world with ME in charge :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\
Could be interesting!!
-
Interesting is NOT a world I would have chosen - hohohoho
-
Another blat from the past - hohhoho
As well as finding the figures for this and the other zombie model - have also found the machine guns, so main gun fitted as a trial to help sort out the correct figure to go with it.
