-

Hi Andy,
I think you meant it meant 'well'
Though a dream, could be a 'nightmare'
From what I have heard, it is the former?

Lovely looking aeroplane, I’ll keep an eye on this build.

Good start Andy
-
Hi Andy,
Very good work matey, I look forward to seeing this one progress.
I have the 1/72 version so it will be interesting to hear your build comments.
Cheers,
Bigkev

One review says it needs a bit of care around the nose transparencies and as ever plenty of dry runs before committing to glue. One of the great things is the turret can be slotted in later so no need to worry about trying to mask around it. I have reviews and builds of the kit which I can scan and send you if you like Andy. Pity it's not the 1/72 scale one I have a set of masks for that. Kev you can have them if you, or anyone else, need them when you come to build. Same with the Do 17.
-
Hi Andy,
You've made good progress...
Like Chris mentioned, extra care may need ti to be taken around the nose transparencies... apparently the nose glazing halves need to be fixed to the fuselage halves first before the fuselage halves are joined.
Will keep in touch,
Biggles

Hi Chris,
Thanks for the offer of the masks. I am interested. Perhaps you could email me direct and we could sort out any payment.
Cheers,
Bigkev
-
Hello boyz.
More Pics.
Cheers,
Andy.
-
Thanks for the comments Chaps. I will take care with the glazing.
Chris, I can use all the help I can get.
MARTIN, the wingspan of the kit is about 360 mm.
You can see by the photo of the wing that the lower half is a bit distorted. Warm water may sort it.
Cheers,
Andy.
-
I will talk to the wing - all the hot air should do the trick - hohoho
-
It’s coming along nicely.
-
Is that with Martin's hot air? Ho ho ho
-
Its not a bad job - the hot air from social 2m distancing - hohohoho
-
Too many days working outside. I'll get on with it asap Andy.
-
Here's the latest.
The lower haves of the wings where warped so I had to take my time with them. Other than that the fit of the parts is pretty good.
Andy.
-
Looking good Andy.
-
So far so good.
Thanks Chris.
Andy.
-
Coming along nicely.
-
Hi Andy,
Looking great mate.
I've got a book on the Blenheim by Chaz Bowyer if you want to borrow it.
Mainly its service life, but some good pictures included.
Cheers,
Kevin
-
Thanks Kevin.
Yes that would be great. Would like to learn more about this airplane.
-
Thanks Kevin.

Hi Andy,
No problem matey.
Will drop it off at yours Monday.
Kevin
PS. It'll fit through the letter box
-
Ace.
Thank you.
Andy.
-
Looking good Andy.
-
I have the Graham Warner book which is a mighty tome giving details of the various marks, operators and losses in different theatres plus much, much more with lots of photos including close-ups. We're probably going to Atwick next week so if you want to borrow it I could swing by and drop it off.
-
Thanks All.
Chris.. Thanks for the offer for the book. Kevin has lent me one as well but I will still take you up on your offer.
Don't put yourself out, only if your passing.
Many thanks.
Andy.
-
Slow but steady progress.
Almost ready for primer.
Andy.
-
Looks good, nice modelling.
-
Would it not fly better if the props are fastened to the engine Andy - hohohoho
-
We'll be passing on Wednesday morning so if you email me your address and mobile number I'll bring the book if you still want it.
-
Nice work Andy.
-
Thanks all.
Andy.
-
Hi Andy,
That looks like a really clean build.
I am going to learn a lot from this build from 1/48th to 1/72nd.
Excellent modelling, as usual.
Cheers,
Bigkev
-
Thanks Kevin.
Now in primer, ready for shading.
Andy.
-
Here's the latest.
Had a bit of trouble with the canopy, it took a couple of attempts to fit.
Now I know not much has happened but after wrestling with the Blenheim I decided to mend Tony's Concord. What a beast...
Andy.
-
Blenheim looking good Andy. Thought that was a quick change modelling project!
-
The Blenheim's coming along nicely Andy. Re Concorde I might try and source one to convert to the SST used in 'The Man in the High Castle', another Luftwaffe 'What If'!!
-
Blenheim coming along nicely. Concorde looks really nice.
-
Thanks Chaps.
The 1/72nd Concorde is a real challenge of a kit to build.
Chris, I agree, it would look great in 'Man in the high castle' scheme.
Andy.
-
Started the paint job.
HURRAH!!!
Andy.

Hi Andy,
Looking forward to your painting application. I'm sure I will learn a lot from you.

What's this I hear from a spy?
A new airbrush eh?
-
Hello All,
I will get some pics up later this week.
I bought myself a MR Hobby FWA airbrush. Very nice.
I cant blame the tools any more...
Thanks.
Andy.
-
Hi Andy,
Would like to hear your working opinion of the Mr Hobby Procon FWA Airbrush.
It would be very helpful.
Cheers,
Bigkev
-
Me too, I'm thinking of upgrading.
-
In to colour now, all shiny ready for transfers.
I used my new airbrush for this.
Cheers,
Andy.
-
And here's the airbrush.
Its the Mr Hobby Pro Con FWA and it cost £118.00.
I've only ever owned cheep airbrushes, this new one is much better engineered and much easier to clean.
The air valve on the front of the brush is brilliant and gives me much better control over air flow.
Cheers,
Andy.
-
A neat looking brush, I'll check it out. Re the colours did you check with Biggles to make sure you have the right shades for the period, lol?
-
Yes.
Biggles kindly sent me some information by post.
The green looks darker in real life. I used the Vallejo BOB colour set.
Andy.
-
Is that the same airbrush that Haddock has?
-
i don't use mine a lot so am still using a generic cheap one from Telford a few years ago - brush is best - hohohoho
-
Is that the same airbrush that Haddock has?
It looks the same, mine has a 0.2mm nozzle which I thought would be too small.
The chap at Albion Alloys convinced me 0.2mm was big enough provided I thinned my paint
correctly, if I didn't like it, he would swop for a 0.3mm nozzle, it works fine.
I think it's just as important to have a reliable source of clean dry air with fine control
of the pressure and paint thinned to the right consistency, a cheap brush will work just as well
although it probably won't last as long and be as nice to use.
Still, I'm no expert.
Haddock.

I do believe that you're right - again.
I have certainy found that to be the case.
-
Nice camouflage Andy.
Yes I agree; it's getting the paint thinned correctly with the comensurate air pressure.
-
It's all too complicated for me!
-
looking good Andy, but I agree with red Lancer, I still only use a brush or spray can.
-
LOOK its got some STICKERS on...
RED LANCER and BOB-- I use a combination of Brushes, Rattle cans and Airbrush. Anything that will do the job.
Cheers All,
Andy.

Are they the invisible sort?
-
Sorry, Try again...
-
Nice stickers.
Haddock.
-
The stickers are OK but look a bit round to me - hohohoho
Great job Andy
-
Looks good Andy.
-
Looks great.
I 've seen a lot of reviews of Airfix kits saying the engraved panel lines etc are too deep.
They are not when I've filled them up with rattle can paint!
-
Almost there...
Red Lancer-I found the panel lines on this kit to be spot on (in my opinion). The only problem I've had is the fit of the canopy but that may be my lack of skill.
Cheers,
Andy.

No, never, looking nice.

You've had a shave ZAK.
Smooooth!
-
You've had a shave ZAK.
Smooooth!
You sound like someone from the fast show.
-
At last Its done....Well almost.
I'm going to weather it some more, but not yet.
Now, what to build next....
Andy.
-
:o
-
Looks great Andy - just needs a little rust hohohohho now what is next?????
-
We done, nice model.
-
Ditto and a little bit of weathering will enhance it further. Well done Andy.
-
Thanks Chaps.
Yep its a bit too shiny looking for me. Need to gray up them engine rings as well.
Andy.
-
That's excellent Andy.
-
Thanks Chris but don't zoom in too much...
Andy.
-
Looks great, Andy
-
Thought I would try again with the engines on the right way round...
The ground crew have been sent to the GLASS HOUSE.
Andy.
-
Looks really good Andy.
-
Did anyone notice?
-
I now see the error having gone back to the previous photo. Didn't notice the first time around.
-
We've all made Rookie mistakes like that Andy so I wouldn't worry. Re the collector rings I read an article where a guy said he'd never seen them as 'brassy' as on models, they've always been greyer due to the heat.
-
Hello All,
Neil spotted it, he has the 'eyes off a hawk and the ears of a fox' that one...
CHRIS-- Yes I totally agree with you about the collector ring. I intend to tone it down a lot more when I weather it.
Thanks,
Andy.
