Got this to use up the etched brass that goes with USS Fletcher. Spotted it on Wed evening, ordered it on Thurs morning, it arrived on Saturday. It came from "Modelsforsale" , around £25 including postage, hows that for service.
The model can be built either full hull or waterline, the waterline plate provided is far too thin
so I've added 3mm to the base to make it the same height as USS Fletcher.
Although it's not mentioned in so many words anywhere in the instructions, you can build the ship as she was in 1943 or 1945, I've gone for the 1945 version.
The last shot shows both ships so you can see some of the differences, The Sullivans in the foreground.

More excellent brass from the master
-
These were little pigs, fortunately those on Fletcher are nicely moulded
so I don't need to do another set.

Hi Haddock,
I am sure the actual description was not 'little pigs' but something more nautically descriptive.....
Very nice painstaking work carried out with usual diligence.
Cheers,

Excellent brasswork Tony. I don't know how you do it.
Sometimes with great difficulty,
but always with joy in my heart.
Now I'm getting older it gets harder.
Only good thing is 'cos my eyesight is
getting worse, I can't see the errors.
Ignorance is bliss!!

Brass? What can I add?
-
Bit more progress.
Haddock.
-
Bits and bobs added.
-
Bits and bobs added.
The bobs are very nice.
-
The bits are OK as well
-
Upto your usual standard Tony.
-
In truth, it's not a very nice kit but It should look OK from "normal" viewing distance.
It won't stand close examination.
I could correct some of the errors but in this scale, it means chucking money at it.
Haddock.
-
I'm sure it looks better from being in your hands, than any other modeller.

Depth charge racks.
-
Good bit of brass bending there.
-
That brass bending looks great far better than that on my Cromwell and yours is a far smaller scale.

An 'Artiste' like Haddock makes everything look easy, 'do-able', and impossible at the same time.
How...! I don't know.
His age thing is only a deflection of his tremendous skill.

Hi Zak,
Haddock just needs to cut up more of that carpet that it is pictured on.....
Trouble is, will his lovely wife find out?
Bigkev
-
The "carpet" is actually a tea towel!!
-
Hi Haddock,
Saved the carpet, but those tea towels are on the list for a different use.
Bigkev

Lovely job as usual Mr Haddock.
