Another Haddock masterpiece in creation.....................!
Looking good.
Bigkev

Hey haddock....ever thought of building an aircraft??
-
I used to, mainly bi-planes, but now I'm hooked on ships.
Haddock.
-
...addicted to rigging eh!
-
As I said before "the dark side" will always get you in the end. So stop struggling and come over to the ship side and join Haddock and me !!!!!!!
-
I do have one still on the go if you remeber "The Passat". Must get back to that one sometime. Dont hold your breath though. Ships are great except for one thing, ....they don`t fly very well!
-
Starting to look busy now. There are twelve stays on each funnel and twelve ships boats to fit in this space. The brass is a bit disappointing, it just don't fit in lots of places, some of it has been replaced with generic stuff.
Could be a test of manhood.
Haddock.

but you do like a challenge don`t you........I am sure that it will be perfect when you have it sorted!
-
A few boats added.

Looking at the picture I must admit to being pleased with the rings around the funnels, eight on each funnel. They're meant to represent some sort of a handrail to hang planks on for painting etc. The brass ones looked horrible so I removed 'em and replaced them with my own version, looks ok to me.
Haddock
-
I too am impressed by the rings on the funnels......how did you do them?
-
It's fishing line, threaded through holes and pulled tight, then super-glued just at the hole, poked around with a finger-nail till it looks right, then flooded with Johnsons to give a fillet. Once painted it looks quite convincing.
Haddock.

Anchors aweigh me-lads, anchors aweigh.

Nice Haddock, very nice.
That Msea will be envious of your 'chains' and he'll be posting very soon I bet.
They look so natural, brilliantly done sir.........well done.
Bigkev
-
That could be because they're chains.
-
That's a real busy looking vessel Haddock. I do enjoy watching these come together, a real treat.
-
Just to keep Kevin happy " your chain is to big " --- not really the model is as I would expect EXCELLENT.
I will be back on line and modelling soon -- and thats a threat !!!!!
-
Looking good as ever, it is a treat watching These ships come together....I am with Wizzel!
-
Bit more progress.

What with having to go to Telford, then becoming a fully paid up member of the " eye of the needle " club, there's not been much modelling done lately. However, here's a mast, not painted, not fixed in place and certainly not rigged. Note to self, get yer finger out son.

Stop fishing for compliments.
-
I'm not, that was just a red herring.
-
Bit more progress, now we have two masts.
Haddock.

-
Two mast do not a ship make!
Deep or what?
-
Too deep for me.
-
Very slow progress folks but here's the bridge with railings and the fore-topmast with some rigging, Kipling this, Kipling.

Just installed Windows 10, that's why the mast is on its side, don't know why yet so you'll have to lay on you're side to look at it!!
-
testing

-
It is still on its side!
-
When you open the photo it is the correct way round - so Zak you don't have to lay on the carpet (in case you go to sleep and don't get your normal 25 models finished per day !!!!! )
-
It looks good at any angle Haddock.
At least people are noticing and commenting on the work to date.
Bigkev
-
Yep!.....that is 100% HS.
-
Bit more progress. I'm starting to have nightmares about spiders webs, there are ten stays supporting the topmast and eleven supporting the mainmast, plus the yard-lifts. I've lost count of funnel stays. Pity about the rubbish pictures.
Haddock (going cross-eyed)

-
Still a very impressive looking vessel though! Plenty of firepower looking at it too!
-
You don`t Need to have nightmares...."stay" with it!
-
Here's some brass rails stuck in place, have to mind I don't get any brush marks when their painted.

How do you keep your hands still enough to place them so precisely??
Looks good Haddock.
Bigkev
-
Perfection as usual. Great stuff O fishy one.
-
How do you keep your hands still enough to place them so precisely??
Looks good Haddock.
Bigkev
I don't, just poke it around till it looks somewhere near, slosh some glue on and hope!!
-
Keep sloshing away then, it obviously works for you!
-
Thinking about the new Star Wars film Haddock reminds me of Yoda --- "about a bit poke it I do" ---- he is also a real jedi master at all he undertakes.

-
I like that..............
'Haddock the Master Jedi'..............................a very true statement modelling wise!
Bigkev
-
He is my master - I just wish I had the skills to be his apprentice.
-
You do go on you lot, it's all to do with time and bloody-mindedness.
Haddock.
-
Minded the Bloody he is.
-
Here's the quarter-deck all "brassed up". Not a drop of blood in sight.
Haddock.

not a lot of skill involved, see my previous post on time etc,
-
You just don't know how GOOD you are....................
Excellent stuff,
Bigkev
-
Well it's finished. Seen as Kite-man and Olly don't come to the meetings, here's some pictures, just for you!
Haddock.

-
Got it!!!!!!!
-
Nice one....a very nice build.
-
Excellent Haddock, absolutely excellent - I will have to practice some more.
-
and also for Kiteman and Oli, if I may be so bold as to add a few close ups so you can see the exquisite detail on the rigging and such like...

Your pictures are better than mine, now I can see all the bits that need touching up, thanks for that!!
Haddock.
My eyes are dim , I cannot see
I have not brought my specs with me and so on.
(Scout campfire song I think)
-
Yes, scouting it was or is.
The Quartermaster's store?
-
Not Ging Gang Gooly then.
-
Keep that to yourself!
-
That don't need touching up; that's weathering!
-
Great Pictures,,,,,thanks a lot. That is a very busy build and the pictures demonstrate how "ship like" the whole thimg really is. WOW!!
-
There are not enough words to express how brilliant this model is................
Speechless!
Bigkev
