My latest project. Mainly resin parts with a quite a few bits of brass. So I think I will have plenty to do.
-
Don't forget to take care when working with resin.
Full PPE gear required.
-
Don't forget the swear box when you are working with the etch brass
-
Yeah got both.
-
Looks like this will be a 'chunky' model when complete!
-
Don’t get this wrong or you will end up in the tower.

Cocpit mostly done. Some brass bending required.
-
Looks nice.
-
Nice that.
Haddock.
-
Looking good Chris.
Andy.
-
Some subassemblies done. A bit of brass bending but not upto Tony's complexity.
Currently waiting for the cabin seats to arrive - they were missing from the kit.
Other kits will continue to be built.

It is really annoying when that happens.
-
Too right.
-
Hi Chris,
Nice build thus far.
I did a post about the missing seats being a pain, but moderated myself but I think you might deduce what my post might have said.

Missing seat parts arrived today. Here they are all assembled ready for painting and placement.
Not the complexity of Tony's brass work.
-
They have a look of cinema seats - now that's an idea a helo in a cinema diorama - hohohoho
-
Nice work on the seats.

Hi Chris,
Nice work.
Should one of the seats of had a royal coat of arms atop it, to denote her Majesticys seat?
You had better be good will gold leaf, ha, ha, ha.

Did they have thrones (of any sort) on helicopters?

I don't think so.

I was thinking more of a purple head rest!
-
Seats placed in the cabin. Now for the rest of the model.
-
Such a shame to hide the detail.
Haddock.
-
Main fuselage sections now together. Goes together quite nicely. The inside of the nose required some material removal and a small amount of filler.
-
good build Chris, is it all resin
-
Yes it's all resin Bob.
-
So fare so good.
Andy.
-
All ready for masking.
-
Looking good.
-
Just had to remove the canopy. It was covered internally with a residue - I presume from the superglue. Anyone have a suggestion to stop that happening?

Coat in Johnsons Clear first.
Superglue will fog canopies, but what option is there with a resin kit?
-
Thanks Dave - I have an equivalent polish. I'll give this a go.

I hope it works.
-
Now first coat of primer on. A small amount of fettling to be done.
-
Whilst reading about RAF Benson, where the Flight was /is stationed, in Action Stations Vol 6 I came across a quote by HRH Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother who came to be quoted as saying that 'the chopper' had changed her life as much as it did Anne Boleyn's. Love it!!!
-
An interesting quote seeing as it would have been quite noisey.
-
Main colours done for the fuselage; the red is Humbrol signal red 174, the blue is Mr Hobby blue fs15050 no 328.
No ready for the detail painting and then decals.
-
Almost there.
-
Coming along nicely.
-
Looks really good, and a different colour scheme
-
Nice paint Job Chris,
Bigkev

Yes it was Andy.

Here it is finished. I had some touching-up to do after applying the white cheat line decal. I'm quite pleased with end result. Finished off with Lucky Varnish - glossy.
-
That does look the part, nice.
-
Another excellent model finished to a great standard again
-
Nice that, looks the part.
Haddock.
-

I've got some Airfix platform figures - would they be good enough?

I'm sure they would.
Just don't use the Lambretta and Rider figure, not sure that is 'Regal' enough.
