So being new to this airbrushing malarky I think that I need some assistance with a problem.
What is it with white paint. I am currently using Revell acrylics mixed with isopropyl alcohol and have had no great problems until I tried to spray white. The white clogs the airbrush causing it to stop and start, spit, fart and all sorts of problems. When I empty my pot there are lumps of white paint clogging everything in the airbrush. As I said, I have no problem with other colours, only white (so far). I can only assume that the colour is the problem. Can anyone recommend a good white paint with suitable thinning substance????

I use either Tamiya with their thinners or Vallejo with their thinners.

I use Tamiya with their own thinners. I think I used Xtracrylix white with their own thinners and that worked fine too.
Hope this helps,
Roger

I agree, certain thinners work well with certain paints but not with others, I'm afraid it's a case of trial and error.
Stick with the thinners for which ever paint you are using.

That's it, Tamiya paint, Tamiya thinners, Vallejo paint, Vallejo thinners and so on.

Here's a tip. To get white water, you have to mix some white paint with it, but don't let on to the others else they'll all be at it.

I've used Fiat white from Halfords and the appliance gloss white with the airbrush using cellulose thinners. The finish with the white using the airbrush I've found superior to hand brushing.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for that mate.
I've used Halfords appliance white before from the can but now I know I can decant and thin it with cellulose thinners is great news.
There might be a SH-3 Sea King on the modelling table now.
Cheers,
