Next model is this Samurai figure I got at Telford this year. The best thing about it is that if I make a total "pigs ear" of the face, it has a mask I could cover up the face with and just paint it gold.
-
Parts of the legs put together and also the 2 bits of the head.
-
I built one of these a few years ago, I enjoyed the build and it won a competition at the club.
Enjoy!
It was in 2013 and there is still a post on here but the photos have been deleted.

What next?
A ship -- honest Haddock.
-
First coat of paint on the legs - you had a choice of green orange and I thought the green would stand out more against the coloured braid on the armour.
What colour did you do yours Zak ???????

Hope you've all read this, a ship next.
Haddock.
-
If its not a ship Haddock, we will put him in the 'stocks' and punish him.....
Letting down the Maritime side of the club, tut, tut...
No pressure Msea, just a gentle prod for the direction of the next subject.

OK OK OK get the message -- it will be a ship -- ???????
-
Not a photo of a ship but the arms, legs and body bits put together.
-
More green on the arms and legs. The instructions say to do the armour "gunmetal" but decided that it would be an improvement if it was "gunmetal blue" -- buts that's just me ignoring instructions as always.
Hope everybody had a great Christmas.
-
Gunmetal blue on the helmet and armour. Next job is to start picking out the braid and gold detail on the armour.
-
Plain green into spotty on one leg.
Next job is to finish all the spots and then a dot into the middle of each spot -- or I could have just left it all plain green - but heyho its only for FUN.
-
Some work done on the red braid on the armour. I am now going to un-cross my eyes and have a cup of coffffeeeeee.
-
Hi Msea,
This is a lovely piece of modelling. All those subtle paint effects, and their application.
Also I'm glad your posting, the other 'Brothers' including myself are being a bit 'lax' in posting.
C'mon 'Fellow Br others' lets start 2019 with a bang, and a whole raft of projects 'Old' and 'New' hitting the website very soon.
Cheers,
Bigkev

The red tassels on the armour painted on the bottom 3 sections - now need to finish this slow slow slow bit of the model.
-
Belt and swords fitted together - next job to clean up and a little filler.
The helmet has now had both bits fitted , just the front 2 panels to add.
-
I could say "he is standing on his own two feet" but that would be very very very bad - so consider it said -- hohoho
-
I am not even going to say "that's a handy thing to have" as swordsman.
-
Hi Msea,
The rivets on that helmet look quite far apart, are you sure there are the right number?
Happy New Year,
Roger

Eventually our visitors left.
Here is mine, as you will not be at the meeting and I was going to bring it,
-
I like it - it is much improved on mine -- but I am enjoying doing it - but DON't tell Haddock.
I have promised to do a ship next, and I don't want to be in any more trouble than I have been in, this year.
-
More bits added to the belt and helmet.
-
Face painted - its OK as long as Howard doesn't look at it - other thing is I can just put the gold face mask over the face.

He looks like he's just seen Msea come out of the shower with no clothe's on!!!
Nice paint job though...……

Helmet now has the two front panels added and helmet placed on the head.
-
Making a small side table to go behind the figure. Legs are now fitted and the bent cross bars made now to clean and smooth them.
-
Both arms and sword added - next a little filler under the right arm.
-
Armour added to arms/shoulders and head fitted , helmet just placed to see how it looks.
-
Looking good, will it be at the next meeting?
-
Yes if I get it finished.
Some work on a sword stand and a seat to go behind the figure.
-
Colour added to the table, sword stand and seat
-
Decoration added to the sword stand.
-
Hi Msea-San,
Looking great.
Is there no subject you can't turn you hand to....?
Love seeing builds of this quality, and learning those techniques used to make this model.
Cheers,
Bigkev
-
Only thing I can't make is a quality model -- but heyho its only for FUN.
-
More bits and bobs added to the figure.
-
Wood base made and all bits placed into position.
-
All parts fastened down - next a couple of coats of matt varnish.
