Another weekend of English summer in prospect I've settled into my warm workshop and decided to tackle this one.
-
A New Zealand link?
-
Not that I'm aware of Chris.
-
Engine and chassis pretty much sorted. A trial fit of the seat highlighted the need for some adjustment to its position. With that done tonight and possibly some of tomorrow will be spent adding a harness.
-
Very nice.
-
While that's the interior and chassis detailed as much as it's going to be. Now onto polishing off the fine mould lines and cleaning up the body work for painting.
-
Looking good Francis.
-
Looking good but a bit windy in the driving seat
-
Here you go Martin. This should provide protection from any wind when fitted to the chassis. Body work primed and only a couple of spots needing a little more prep.
-
Going nicely Francis.
I'm sure it will look splendid with some colour on.

Coming along nicely. Looking forward to seeing the body and chassis joined and painted.
-
Coming along nicely.

Final top coat on the body work applied today. The next week will see nothing happening as is usual while watching paint dry. After that I'll tackle the detailing which may take some time.
-
Impressive paint stand Francis. Mine's a cake stand with clingfilm and kitchen roll. lol!!!
-
The paint stand is half of a set by Tamiya that I bought years ago which have proven to be versatile and useful.
Picture is a check on the 'sit' of the body on the chassis.
-
Looks good so far.
-
A start on the detail finish and race decals. It's going to be a long job I feel.
-
Well that's agood start Francis.
-
Take a deep breath and forge ahead.
-
Ooh, this is going to be soooo interesting!!!!
-
Getting closer to the finish line on this marathon. Just the nose and roof spoiler to finish and then some minor touch ups.
-
Very colourful!
-
Looking very nice. I bet those decals took some time.
-
It's a combination of decals and painting. Getting the registration/alignment of one to the other is a slow process that has got a tad fraught on one or two occasions.
-
Decals and paint sorted. It will be left for a week or so to dry out/cure before final assembly and detailing.
-
Blimey, that looks good.
-
Impressive work Francis.
-
Had a trial fit on the chassis today and after some trimming and adjustments to axle centres I'm happy with the sit of the car.
-
Looks good.
Is this the one that was nicknamed the Batmobile?
-
Excellent.
-
Excellent work.
