As I have started the Missile group, please feel free to post anything missile related here.
After the US Missiles it is time that I thought about something from the UK.
Well it will still be from the USA but was operated by the RAF - well mostly, it did require an USAF Officer to be in attendance for the launch.
So if you look in modelling projects you can see the Corporal, Honest John and the Northrop Snark.
So next it will be the Bloodhound and the Thor Missiles.
The Thor Missile was developed in the USA as an IRBM (Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile)

Hi Zak,
Think there is a typo error in your post, but I get your drift.
I have something Modern Soviet to add to the post, has anybody else got anything in mind?
Ready for lift off!!!

Typo sorted, I hope.
I gave a Power Point presentation last night of the Thor Missiles and models available.
Seemed to go ok.
No complaints anyway.

I am at present pursuing my new found interest in the Thor Missile system.
I am grappling with the BW Thor with its Transporter trailer and the Leyland Hippo 19H Tractor Unit.
I am not going to post any photos of this until it is completed.
I do not find white metal kits easy, but only time and patience will reveal the results.
The Thor is a vacuum formed kit - again not another of my favourite kit genres really.
Thanks to Andy for supplying me with the kit - he may be a sadist in disguise I am not sure.
Hopefully I will complete this and the missile will be supposedly one based at Carnaby.

The SIG has now been sanctioned by the IPMS and contact details are on the IPMS website.
A big thank you to all members who provided names and wanted to be associated with this SIG and unfortunately with me too.

Do we want to exhibit at Telford this year?

We should, if nothing else to get your V2 meisterwerk to the public!!

I have started on a Thor site - see modelling projects under THOR MISSILE(S).
The SIG now has 14 members.

Hi Zak,
That is a very good start to the SIG.
I will be posting my first contribution build tomorrow.
Well done,

Evening all. Well after a prolonged absence due to a "bit of a busy year with other stuff!!" I'm now back and have cleared off my bench. This missile SIG has given me the impetus to get back into it and I have therefore packed my myriad of part built projects away for now and will start with my own missile related build sometime this week.

Here we are, my latest missile.
I think I may use this great example as the logo for the SIG.
Easy build, great fun.
