Here were are another biplane, but what is it?

It is not from WW1

It is a trainer.

I will change the title when someone guesses correctly.

Hi Chris, nice to have you as a member.
Now you can reveal all.

Yes, I know, but I had to do something while watching the transfers on the Fokker set and dry.

A lot of nice etched brass parts in this kit.
I did scratch build one of these many years ago and so treat myself to a proper model.

I got this from Howard a few years ago, I built one of them and then it got badly damaged, this was a dual kit. I decided it was time to try again.
Lots of cockpit detail, but will it be visible once the fuselage halves are joined?

I bought my granddaughter one for Christmas and so decided I would see how easy it was to build.
The build was very straightforward, it was the painting that was difficult.

Help / PC10 - World War 1 green
« on: December 09, 2021, 02:01:52 PM »
Hi all, advice please, what is the best out of the pot colour to use?
There is a lot of different advice on the internet.

Here is the real recipe/
The PC10 Recipe

Lets see for 100 gallons (Imperial btw) of PC10 dope
260 pounds nitro Cellulose syrup
74 pounds of pigments in the following proportions
40 pounds yellow ochre
30 pounds umber
2 pounds 8 ounces Red Ochre
1 pound 8 ounces Chinese Blue.

Once that lot was assembled it was added to
20 gallons Acetone or Methyl ethyl ketone
15 gallons Amyl Acetate
15 Gallons benzol
15 gallons Methylated spirit

Sounds like a lovely mix.

Vallejo 883?

Modelling Projects / Mr Robinson's Tractor

Neil asked me to build a 1:48 scale Fordson N tractor for his latest build involving Westland Whirlwinds from 137 and 263 Squadrons.
It will be very like the two in the Battle of Britain thread, but I thought I would document the build as i went along.
Unfortunately I dumped all my scribblings while building the other - never throw anything away!

I decided that the next part of my railway inspired modelling needed a larger building.
This is the front of what will hopefully become an engine house.
This will hold a large beam engine for pumping large volumes of water.

The basic shell is foam board covered with individual bricks laid in an English bond.
This has yet to have windows and other detail added.

The second picture shows the start of the beam engine.

Flywheel and beam, all from card.

I coat/soak the card in French Polish, it can then be sanded.
