Eureka moment
« on: July 07, 2013, 09:55:09 PM »

Hi all, over the years of owning microwave ovens and replacing them when their life expectancy expired, I always saved the glass plates and rollers, as the old adage goes, 'They will come in handy one day'. Today I had cause to remove them from their resting place in the kitchen as the space was required for something new. Reluctant to part with anything, I racked my brain as to what I could use the ex-microwave items for before condemning them to the bin. Then it struck me, a turntable for modelling!!! I put a smaller plate underneath making sure the  rollers sat inside the rim of the smaller plate and then placed the glass microwave plate on top and I now have a perfect turntable for modelling and it is cheap!!

Hi Bridlufc,

I hope you didn't leap out of the bath naked shouting Eureka, at this moment of realisation.

Another good example of how an everyday item finds another use in the modelling scene.

Well done

I hope my next is always better
