I think that it is something to do with the Jubilee or from 1952, or something like that.

I use a cutting disc in a mini drill to get a right angle cut on brass/metal.
Xuron do sell a cutter for metal , made really for railway modellers and it is supposed to give a good burr free square cut, they cost around £14.00. So your device is much cheaper!!!!!!

General Discussion / Re: Another year over
« on: December 23, 2011, 10:14:05 AM »
The years do go faster.
When you are 2, one year is half your life, when you are 20 it is one twentieth, when you are 60 it is 1/60th. As you can see the fractions get smaller and so the time appears shorter and hence faster.
What a load of old tripe.
Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year.

Help / Re: Microsol and microset

I have stopped using these now and simply rely on good old Johnsons Klear, I use it to bed the transfer down during placement as well. I only use the Microsol on particularly bad bits were it is over rivets etc.
The pooling may be due to putting them on in the wrong order, the wetting agent, Microset, I think should destroy any problems due to surface tension etc and should be used first.

I built one of these way back when, it was a great kit, I also built the steam roller.
Lets see some photos of the build. Eventually consigned them both to the bin as they gradually fell apart due to abuse etc.

General Discussion / Meeting on 7th November
« on: November 08, 2011, 07:47:10 AM »
 :)
A good meeting, plenty of models on the table and lots of members present.
Well done to Tony W for winning the competition and even more well done to me for winning the £5.
At the end of the meeting Dave Latus told me he no longer has the will to model and so will not be renewing his membership. I will miss his quiet humour, good nature and excellent models.
Cheers
Dave
