Something a bit different for me, this will be the first formula one car that I have ever attempted, so we will see how it goes.
I am building this in between the 1/350 Academy Graf Spee, which is proving a little taxing.
I hope that this will be light relief.
I bought the kit at the Bolton Show.
The parts have had a wash and then assembly will start once they dry.

Will you add missiles to it, so it is part of your SIG - or just a plain car ???????

Floats and a hull, ship or plane?

Engine assembly, what a joy Tamiya kits are, everything fits as it should and the instructions can be followed.
As you can see I use the Xuron cutter for removing parts from the sprue and sometimes a scalpel and a small block of wood.
Having seen the top of the range cutters, I am jealous of Bill and John, mere mortals make do.
You can also see my solvent of choice is Slaters MEK, even though it is in a Tamiya botte.

Engine frame and exhausts.
Ready for painting, undercoat applied.
Parts are held in crocodile clips and clamps and then supported in plasticine until dry.
-
I nearly bought one of those myself - you got me thinking after our chat. I was thinking of making it for a friend, but he would really want a Ferrari, and that was £50!! Looking forward to seeing this build.

More painting today, several top coats will be added, especially the white.
-
Can you slow down a bit please, I can't keep up.
Haddock.
-
More pictures as the build progresses.
Mostly as the kit goes, I did drill out the exhausts.

Hi Zak,
Question Please........
Is the place where you live, inside the artic circle and in the land of the 'Midnight Sun'. How else can there be so many hours in which to model so brilliantly??
Deeply envious,
Bigkev

Yes, it is darkest Bempton!
-
I still can't see how the missile pods are to be attached ?????
-
More assembly.

The completed car, decals next.
Decals applied, the red one on the front had some soften applied to get it to sit right, this seems to have taken some of the surface of the decal.
The offending part was given a coat of clear varnish and the polished, it looks better now.

That looks rather splendid!
Haddock.

Many thanks kind sir.

Hi Zak,
Nice work there, lots of detail and great paint finish.
Certainly on the leaders podium without a doubt.

This is a similar model, I like the look of the earlier racing cars.
This is 1:20 scale from Ebbro, it is another Honda, Brabham BT18 Honda F2.
-
Has this appeared by magic, if so, it's very nice.
Haddock.
-
No, not magic, the build was so similar to the earlier one I did not include it, just the finished product.
Both will be at the next meeting. I have been slowly building it since I finished the white one. Very sloly for me.

You mean it ONLY took 20 minutes Zak
