Kamov Ka-15M with floats. Just finished. You're going to have to put up with me as I finish my models.
This is an Amodel kit with the usual fairly soft plastic. A bit tricky in places particularly the rotors (don't look too closely).
Hand painted - too small for airbrushing. The orange is Humbrol and the white is cellulose Fiat white.
-
We can put up with you any time
-
Now that's a lovely looking helicopter.
Nice one,
Andy.
-
Lovely.
-
I see it has the old CCCP on the tail but what was she used for ????
-
I once built one in 1/32 scale, I think it had working contra-rotating rotors.
-
Hi Chris,
Nice looking model, and an unusual subject too.
Is it a A-Model kit?
Cheers,
Bigkev
-
Yes the kit is Amodel, Kevin.
I believe, Martin, that it carries dunking snoar on the port side. A lot of USSR military aircraft had Aeroflot titles.
I've never seen this in anything other than 1/72nd Dave.

I think Chris you have the "martin disease" letters in the wrong order sonar / snoar. BUT on this web site that is allowed -its the content we look forward to not the linguistics. Well Zak does he is always pulling me up on my
speeeling spaling sealling how I put down word - hohoho

Hi Chris,
just realised you had said it was an A-Model kit in the first post.
What a schmuck I am, not reading the text properly.
Still, it is a very nice model.

Hi Chris -- got me interested and looked back on my photos of the Riga air museum - one shot of a Kamov - 26, I think in Aeroflot livery. I do have a helo in the loft must get it out and join the big boys - hohohoho

I have been searching my archives (no, its not really) and came across these real photos from before the digital age, I did tell you I used to build helicopters. So I scanned them in and here they are for your delectation.
-
You man of many talents. They look great to me.
-
Is there a subject or area you've not yet modelled Zak?

I am not sure, probably not, jack of all, master of none, I feel.

Not by the models I have seen you make
-
Hi Dave, well there's the proof you have built helicopters. They are good. I presume the Rotodyne is the Airfix one and the skycrane is the Revell one?
Obviously Martin the brain is quicker than the fingers. Normally I can spell sonar having worked in the field for a year or two. I'm ot quite so slick on thr tablet keyboard.
-
Yes, you are spot on with the makes, it is my chill spucker that I have problems with.
-
I am glad you are all joining my type of spelllling
-
Hi All,
Looks like your modelling skills are more advanced than your spelling...but, not your humour!
Cheers,
Bigkev
