The second model for my Keith Lawrence themed build is a Spitfire Ia that he flew while with 234 squadron. Once again the Airfix 48th kit. Fuselage closed up with the only additions to the kit being seat belts and a metal seat as it was one of the very early Mk ia Spitfires.

Hi Kiwichappers,
Very neat building there sir, not a seam in sight!
Loved the last 'Spit' I'm sure this one will match it.
Cheers,

Now all the flying surfaces are fitted. Just a few ancillaries and the cockpit glazing to fit, some masking then it's off to the paint shop.

Hi Francis,
Good clean build, look forward to seeing it in all its glory after the paint shop.

A disastrous result with Alclad II Mil-Spec paint meant this project has languished for some time. More or less back on track with a recovery plan, today has seen take two of the camouflage applied.
-
Never mind take two,
It still is going ahead, and I like what I see.
Keep it up Francis, this will be a great model.
Cheers,
