This is a conversion kit from Air Graphic Models using the Airfix Lynx as the donor aircraft.
I think this ma y be a slow build. Plenty of resin parts for the conversion and the detail looks good.
-
That will keep you busy in tier 3, like the rest of us in the East Riding.
-
Welcome to the wonderful world of resin!! Lots to keep you busy there.
For reference the latest AviationMegastore newsletter lists a Scaleworx Resin models conversion set for the Belgian Army Augusta A109BA using the Revell kit as donor in future releases and the Atlantis Productions AH-56A Cheyenne back in stock, both 1/72scale. Something to get from Santa?
-
Hmm might think about the A109 conversion but i already have a Cheyenne made by Miku.
-
flew in an early AH1 many moons ago, looking forward to this build.

Looks complicated Chris.
Ahhh! the Cheyenne. Better than the Apache???
Andy.

Yes I think there is going to be most of the donor kit left in the spares box.
The Cheyenne had a few crashes and was a complex machine.
-
Fuselage halves cut down as per the instructions. I think a bit of filler may be required on assembly.
-
Cockpit and cabin just about done.
-
Looking good. 8)
Andy.
-
Here is the main rotor assembled together with the door gun assemblies. Engine exhausts cleaned up.
-
Good progress.
-
Nearly finished by the look of it Chris - hohohho
-
Getting there Chris.
Bob c
-
Nearly. Having difficulty getting the cabin roof on. Requires a bit more fettling.
-
Some progress.
-
Some progress.
An open top helicopter, good for rides along the seafront.
-
Good for drying your hair as well - hohohho
-
Good for chopping the heads off zombies - don't you think?

Excellent idea - but you may be giving him ideas for future models.
-
Thanks for the ideas - now who will they look like ???????
-
Doh!

Zombie Copter.
-
Cabin roof now on with a bit of filling to be done.
I used the original transparency from the Airfic kit for the roof window than that from the conversion kit. It's absolutely clear and it fits better.
-
That's one heck of a lump of resin on top!!
-
Looking good.

That's one heck of a lump of resin on top!!
There are more bits to be added yet.
Just dismantled it to polish the inside the cockpit glazing to guard against the blooming from superglue.

Will you coat it in anything?
I once built a Feisler Storch, using some superglue on the etched brass parts and the canopy fogged.
So take care.
-
I've tried some polish but the brush must have been dirty - I could fog it up witout superglue. My latest try is to coat the inside with Deluxe's 'Looks Like Glass'.
-
I use Klear but as you say you have to make sure the brush is clean, ask me how I know?

How do you know Chris?
-
Spots and streaks!!!!
-
Yeah, I got plenty of streaks. So far this time around the inside of the glazing looks ok.
-
A little progress. All the engine parts and exhausts assembled. New tail on. Now for the fine detail.
-
Plenty of resin, looking good.

On the subject of Klear on glazing I thought one was supposed to soak the
part in the Klear ( for a week or so) and then allow to drain/ dry naturally?

I've always just dipped the part in Klear, placed it on a paper towel to get rid of the excess and allowed it to dry naturally. Sometimes it needs a couple of applications.
Haddock.
-
Like Haddock, I dip it and allow to drain and then dry.
-
Sounds better than brushing it on.

Sounds better than brushing it on.
Too easy to get air bubbles and dirt.
-
BUT a zombie helicopter needs bubbles and dirt - YoHoHo sorry about that, I do the same just dip the part and let it drip onto a paper towel.
-
Fuselage ready for primer.
Made a mistake when placing the roof on the fuselage - needs to be 0.75mm lower. This only came to light when fitting the doors. So instead of taking it all apart again I increased the height of the doors to compensate. Good enough for me.
-
An elegant solution in the circumstances.
-
I'm shocked!....who will know?
..apart from all of us, that is!
-
It will still look a cracking helo when finished - I have one in the stash and am thinking about getting it out :-X :-X :-X :-[ :-[ ??? ??? ??? :o

Will it float?????
-
Nooo. Too much resin.
-
Completed at last. This has been a slow one. I'm reasonably pleased with the result. It's not perfect
-
That turned out rather well. Looks very good from where I'm viewing. Great work Chris.
-
Loks good Chris, I think we are all over critical about our own work, that strive for perfection.
-
Agree with Zak, we see things on our own models that others don't.
Looks good to me.
Haddock.
-
I just wish I could do things to that standard -- well done Chris

I think you do Martin.
Thanks for the comments.
-
A handsome model.
Nothing wrong with this one Chris, well done.
-
Nice one Chris.
