So, as promised to Haddock, here are a couple of piccies of my first attempts at a ship. I chose HMS Victory purely because the model was in the bargain bucket of my local model shop. In retrospect I should have started with something a little easier, perhaps a rowing boat, but nevertheless it was a challengeand I learned a lot. In all I took a couple of years to throw this together, inbetween the biplanes, with sometimes months of doing nothing on it. It`s "out of the box", it isn`t as these things tend not to b,e correct toscale and it is all part of the learning curve. The ship was one challenge but the sea was another. I wanted to present the ship on something other than a stand, so had a go at knocking up a box and relevant sea. Now having never done a sea before, and not being Tony, I first produced what was described by Wizzel as "the waves on a log flume", so that sea was binned. What you see here is my second attempt at water. It`s not easy folks and I have great respect for people like Tony who builds not only great ships but great sea too.
Anyway here it is, warts and all, and I promise to do better with the Passat.
