Title: BA Chinook
Post by: chriswil42 on January 29, 2024, 02:44:37 PM
Started this at the playday yesterday. I think there is quite a bit of work involved here.

Cockpit done with new brass consoles.
Main fuselage halves modified ready to accept the larger sponsons and the new window strips from the conversion kit.
There's quite a bit of glazing to be done - 28 windows - should be fun.

Looks good Chris.
All that glazing will keep you busy.
Cheers,
Kevin

That's a serious amount of modifying, good luck.

The new window strips fully glazed (29) after first painting the insides of the winows white. A bit of cleaning up to do now.

Fuselage modifications done. Some filling and clean-up to be done.
It has gone together better than expected so far.

I like the idea of clear section noses as it makes the windows integral and they don't appear as an after thought.

Rotor blades prepared. Top one is from the kit; bottom the one for the conversion.

Undercarriage on. The air con unit behind the cockpit had to be sanded down quite a bit. The original part looked way too large looking at the photographs.

First coat of primer on. It has shown up afew areas to be filled. Do that before its next coat.
Hopefully a couple of coats of white over the primer should be enough to make it white.
