I have been doing 2steps forward and 2 1/2 back recently.
The pics show the Arab at current state. The face is done but not the turban.
I did a simpler method of face painting on this, that I tried once many years ago.
I remember being not to keen then but it's not too bad this time! I wanted a sort of swarthy skin
and this is not quite there, but it will do!
I wanted the lower green skirt thing to be silk/satin looking but better than varnish effect,
so it is painted with Humbrol Mettalic green. Shading was done with mixes of metallic blue and red.
I'm not sure it has worked, not even sure it is better than varnish. It has made it damn difficult to try and paint patterns over it!
The horse; after having sorted the head ( thanks for your comments Francis!) I did legs etc and then undercoated the body
The plan is for the top half (Flesh colour) to be Black and the lower white. There were a few casting faults I noticed that I
noticed, (and a few I didnt) that I thought would be ok when painted. Stupid and wrong. Shading white is always a trial for me
and having spent the last two sessions making a mess ( see pics).it's back to the start. I will sort the casting stuff
and start sanding paint. If it was metal it would have been paint stripper!
