Hi all, at last Mondays club meet I brought along a Beriev B6 float plane. I was unhappy with the way Vallejo matt varnish sat on the model so I watched a Humbrol tutorial on youtube regarding spraying Humbrol Varnish (gloss and matt) and decided to finish the model with these. I wasn't happy with the finish of either Humbrol varnishes, through spraying or brush painting but, thanks to Trevor Snowdons' suggestions I am now going in the right direction. He suggested that I gave my model a coat of Future Clear between coats of varnish and also, that spraying in low temperatures could be an issue. I have now incorporated a travel hairdryer into my rather large spray booth to address the problem.
