Hi Wizzel,

Thanks for that last comment. I think we should be in a 'better place' next year, both figuratively speaking and physically.

Hopefully the next meeting will see us nearer to that better place. Roll on 2015!

Hi All,

Isn't it great to have such great input on this idea?

Photo's of models?, I had not even considered it until now, Kiteman you deserve a 'thumbs up' for that.

More thought and detail will be needed but, hey its great to think that such an initial suggestion by Haddock can be the catalyst to something totally different and unique.

Hi Zak,

Go for it mate. I will give you 100% backing on putting on such an impressive display.

At the moment I make that at least 1 table required, maybe 2??

Actually I agree with you Haddock.

Dave's models are fantastic in their own right, but collectively they form a unique and extremely impressive display.
I would happily agree for this collection to have its own space at any show we attend, or even our own.

Hi Guys,

The idea is a good one, but we need to refine it into something that is more practicable.

As a suggestion, why not decide to put forward ONE of your models built in the last year, rather than all models made.
This way the modeller can themselves choose what they think is their best effort that year, and then it will be judged alongside models of other members, using the same formula.

Just a thought chaps.

Anybody have other suggestions to throw into the hat?

Hi Haddock,

Not a bad idea, perhaps we should air it at the next meeting. If general consensus is to go with it, why not start it from Jan2015 and award trophy at December meeting 2015??

Just another thought??

Glad to see that you have managed the 'art' of matching numbers.

Hi All,

Forgot to tell you, I will be bringing along a box of books awarded as a prize to the club from Scale Aircraft Modelling International for putting on the Best Model Show for 2013/2014.

Though these are mainly aircraft orientated, there are some Military titles in there too.

To make it fair, all members will be given raffle tickets, these will then be drawn and the winner will be given a choice from the selection on offer.

First tickets drawn out of the hat (Janice's) win

PS. Please note as we are getting the venue for free for this meeting, will everybody do their bit and please buy at least one drink from the bar as we have done in the past at the Railway Buffet.

I presume that is with the other half.

Hi All,

Well progress has been a little slow of late, but now have got engines assembled and filled where necessary.

the tailplanes have been given a coat of 'kleer' and are now ready for transfers/decals. Though natural metal leading edge strips are provided on the decal sheet, I am probably going to use Alclad II to paint them in as I have experienced problems in the past with the very tight curve around the leading edges of wings and tailplanes. The decals tend not to conform easily.
