I need several different size cowl vents. Anybody any easy way to make them, other than carving the head from large size acrylic and fastening this to a tube ???????
-
I would love to help but I have no idea what a cowl head vent is!!!!

Put a right angled bend in some circular sprue, then cut off and drill out the end?
-
I'll just highjack your thread.
Here you are.
Is this what you mean?
Took a couple of minutes, bit rough and ready but the principle maybe sound.

I've got some leftovers from IJN Mikasa in 1:350 scale, any good? I'll have a root in the spares box to see if there's owt else.
Haddock.

NO! Don't give him ready made ones. He's gonna make us suffer anyway so at least let him work for it.

Thank you all.

Another idea - you could make a balsa wood former, varnish it, give it a smear of TREX and make as many as you want out of sugar paste?

It's them hollow things that stick up from the floor and curve round a bit at the top. Look a bit like a length of sprue with a right angle bend at one end and hole drilled in it.
